A 3D caption display method for harmoniously merging and displaying closed caption with 3D image in a 3D display apparatus, and a 3D display apparatus suitable for implementing the method. The 3D display apparatus receives a broadcast signal containing caption data, and obtains caption control commands including a 3D parameter setting command from the caption data. Afterwards, the 3D display apparatus displays a plurality of 3D caption images according to the caption control commands.

The disclosed method for processing a broadcast signal for 3D (3-Dimensional) broadcast service comprises encoding 2D (2-Dimensional) video stream including a 2D video frame, encoding depth information including depth of a 3D image relative to a plane of a display, encoding signaling information for signaling the encoded 2D video stream and the depth information, wherein the signaling information includes a 3D service location descriptor including codec type information specifying encoding type of the encoded depth information, generating the broadcast signal including the encoded 2D video stream, depth information and signaling information, and transmitting the generated broadcast signal.

The method performed by a reception device of point cloud data according to the present invention comprises the steps of: obtaining a geometry-based point cloud compression (G-PCC) file including the point cloud data; determining whether temporal scalability information of a tile track is present in the G-PCC file; and deriving the temporal scalability information of the tile track on the basis of the temporal scalability information of the tile track being absent, wherein the temporal scalability information of the tile track may be derived on the basis of temporal scalability information of a tile base track in the G-PCC file.

A point cloud service providing method according to embodiments may comprise the steps of: performing a call connection for a call between a first user terminal and a second user terminal; and when the call connection is performed, transmitting point cloud data to the first user terminal by the second user terminal by using at least one real time transport protocol (RTP) packet, wherein the point cloud data is G-PCC data compressed on the basis of G-PCC, and a header of the at least one RTP packet comprises identification information for identification of the G-PCC data.

According to the disclosure of the present document, an image/video coding procedure may be performed on the basis of a sub-picture partitioning structure, and encoded image/video information may include individual information on each of subpictures. In addition, output sub-picture sets, each including sub-pictures, may be used for encoding or decoding of an image/video, whereby the overall image/video compression efficiency can be improved and the subjective/objective visual quality can be improved.

The method for transmitting a broadcast signal, according to the present invention, provides a system capable of supporting a next-generation broadcasting service in an environment supporting a next-generation hybrid broadcast which uses a terrestrial broadcasting network and an Internet network. Also provided is an efficient way of signaling encompassing the terrestrial broadcasting network and the Internet network in the environment supporting the next-generation hybrid broadcast.

According to a feature of the present invention, a method for transmitting a 360-degree video is disclosed. The method for transmitting a 360-degree video according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: obtaining 360-degree video data; mapping the 360-degree video data to a 2D image; dividing the 2D image into two or more regions, and encoding each individual region or a plurality of regions; generating signalling information with respect to the 360-degree video data; and transmitting a data signal including the encoded 2D image and the signalling information, wherein the signalling information includes grouping information about grouping of the two or more regions.

Provided are a method of receiving an enhanced service and a video display device thereof. The method includes: receiving an audio-visual (AV) content; extracting first feature information from the received AV content; receiving a database including at least one of content information, enhanced service information, and an enhanced service, which correspond to the first feature information, from a first server by transmitting the extracted first feature information to the first server; storing the database received from the first server in a memory; extracting second feature information from the received AV content; and searching and obtaining one of content information, enhanced service information, and an enhanced service, which correspond to the extracted feature information, from the database.
