摘要: System for detecting stability/instability of behavior of a motor vehicle upon occurrence of tire slip or lock. State of the motor vehicle is determined on the basis of an alignment torque (Ta) applied from a road and a side slip angle (β). By taking advantage of such torque/slip-angle characteristic that although the alignment torque is proportional to a side slip angle when the latter is small, the alignment torque becomes smaller as the side slip angle increases, a normal value is determined from a straight line slope and the side slip angle in a region where the latter is small. Unstable behavior of the motor vehicle is determined when deviation of actual measured value from the normal value increases. Further, unstable state is determined when the slope of the alignment torque for the slip angle departs significantly from that of approximate straight line slope.

摘要: In an electrical power steering apparatus, steering shaft reaction torque is estimated by a steering shaft reaction torque estimation unit, and a reference road reaction torque is estimated by a reference road reaction torque estimation unit. The estimated steering shaft reaction torque and the reference road reaction torque are weighted, and in response, a target steering reaction torque is set by a target steering reaction torque generation unit, hysteresis width and slope of the target steering reaction torque are respectively adjusted, and steering feeling is thereby easily improved.

摘要: An electric motor controller for a steering device that can apply an appropriate steering force to a steering wheel according to running conditions. An electric power steering controller of the present invention includes a steering shaft reaction force torque sensor for detecting a reaction force torque of a steering system, a superimposed reaction force torque calculating unit for multiplying a steering angle detected by the steering angle sensor by a gain to calculate a superimposed reaction force torque in the return direction of the steering wheel, and a control unit for controlling the gain so that the superimposed reaction force torque is reduced when a reaction force torque of the steering system is increased and the superimposed reaction force torque is increased when a reaction force torque of the steering system is decreased.

摘要: An identification is made of an abnormal condition in a motor due to an influence of a disturbance voltage, without addition of hardware, by estimating the disturbance voltage based on a target voltage and actual current flowing in the motor. An apparatus for detecting the abnormal condition of a motor in an electric power steering apparatus includes a motor current detecting unit for detecting an actual current flowing through the motor; a feedback controlling unit for feedback-controlling a target voltage value that gives the motor a driving command in accordance with the deviation of the actual current from an input target current; an abnormal voltage estimating unit for, based on the target voltage and the actual current, estimating an abnormal voltage estimation value corresponding to a voltage indicating an abnormal condition of the motor; and a motor abnormality judging unit for judging abnormality of the motor based on a comparison of the abnormal voltage estimation value with an abnormal voltage value previously stored.

摘要: A method of controlling an automotive electric power steering system includes estimating a first road reaction torque from driver's steering torque detected by a steering torque detector. A second road reaction torque is estimated from the steering angle detected by a steering angle sensor. A returning torque compensator calculates a steering wheel-assisting torque from the second road reaction torque. An assisting torque is generated by an electric motor according to the result of the calculation, and is controlled in a direction to return the steering wheel to its center position. The returning torque compensator determines whether the steering angle sensor is faulty when the difference between the first and second road reaction torques is greater than a given value.

摘要: An electric power steering controller including a motor for generating torque for assisting the steering torque of a driver to assist the steering force of a steering system. The controller includes a road reaction torque detector for detecting road reaction torque received by tires from the surface of a road, and a road detection torque addition control for controlling the torque of the motor based on the road reaction torque. The electric power steering controller enables the steering wheel to be returned to its starting point without adding torque in a direction in which the driver returns the steering wheel when the driver contgrols the steering wheel with the small road reaction torque of the tires, for example, when turning at an intersection at a low speed or when turning at a gently curved portion of a road at a high speed.
