    摘要: There is disclosed a manufacturing method of a plugged honeycomb structure, capable of inexpensively manufacturing the plugged honeycomb structure which does not have any defect in a short time without any restriction on an operation environment and capable of reducing an amount of industrial wastes. A mask 30 for forming plugging portions is prepared based on image data of an end surface of a honeycomb structure 2 by an optical forming process, the mask having pores 33 capable of communicating with cells 19a to be plugged and convex portions 35 capable of fitting into cells 19b which are not to be plugged. After fixing the mask to the end surface of the honeycomb structure 2, the honeycomb structure 2 to which the plugging portion forming mask 30 is fixed is set in a vessel 20 having, in an upper portion, an opening into which the plugging portion forming mask 30 can fit and containing a slurry 50 for plugging, and opening ends of the cells 19a to be plugged are filled with the slurry 50 for plugging through the pores 33 of the plugging portion forming mask 30 to thereby form the plugging portions.

    摘要: There is disclosed a method for removing bubbles from a slurry and a device therefor capable of efficiently optimizing the removal of bubbles from a slurry and the viscosity of the slurry as well as dramatically reducing the bubble removing time. The device for removing bubbles from a slurry comprises a hopper 1 for charging a predetermined amount of slurry 2 including liquid and a high concentration of solid material agitated and dispersed in the liquid with the slurry containing bubbles to be removed therein; a bubble removing unit 20 disposed downstream of the hopper 1 and having a bubble removing plate 10 disposed downstream of the hopper 1 for discharging the slurry 2 containing bubbles to be removed therein in the form of and noncontact filaments or noodles; a slurry tank 3 connected downstream of the bubble removing unit 20; a vacuum unit 30 for evacuating the slurry tank 3 when the bubble removing unit 20 is used; and an air introduction unit 40 for introducing air for pressure-delivering the slurry 6 which is contained in the slurry tank 3 from the bubble removing unit 20 with bubbles removed to the outside.

    摘要: There is provided a method for manufacturing a plugged honeycomb structure having a honeycomb structure where a plurality of cells extending between two opening ends are defined by porous partition walls and plugged portions disposed so as to plug one of the two opening ends of each of the cells. In this manufacturing method, after a plugging mixed material is filled into opening end portions of all the cells of the honeycomb structure, the plugging mixed material filled into the opening end portions of cells which should not be plugged is removed and penetrated to open the end portions of the cells which should not be plugged. According to this manufacturing method, a plugged honeycomb structure having no defects can be manufactured at low costs for a short time without restriction on operation circumstances with less industrial waste.

    摘要: The present invention provides a honeycomb structure which includes a cell structure section 3 including a plurality of cells 2 partitioned by a plurality of partition walls 1a and 1b, and an outer circumferential wall section 4 surrounding the cell structure section 3. The cell structure section 3 includes a first partition wall group having the partition walls 1a positioned in parallel and a second partition wall group having the partition walls 1b which intersect the partition walls of the first partition wall group at right angles and are positioned in parallel, each of the partition walls 1a and 1b connecting two different locations of the outer circumferential wall section 4 through one continuous plane. In this honeycomb structure, the partition wall intervals of the partition walls 1a and 1b of each partition wall group positioned in parallel are varied stepwise in at least a part of the cell structure section 3, at least some of the cells have a rectangular cross-sectional shape, and all the partition walls 1a and 1b have such a ratio of the cell side length to the partition wall thickness that the partition wall can withstand pressure during canning. According to the present invention, a honeycomb structure which excels in isostatic strength and thermal shock resistance and has such a high industrial applicability that the honeycomb structure can be manufactured at low cost can be provided.
