摘要: A method of providing a consumer of a food product with data regarding food impurities found therein. The method includes providing an analyzer for the food product while providing food impurity concentration data of the food product. The food product is labeled with the identifier which is associated with the food product at distribution. A website is established for receiving the food impurity concentration data and for displaying the food impurity concentration data in association with the identifier. A consumer is provided the opportunity to learn the food impurity concentration data of the food product bearing the identifier by comparing the identifier on the food product with that recited on the website.

摘要: Methods and apparatus to count people appearing in an image are disclosed. One disclosed method reduces objects appearing in a series of images to one or more blobs; for each individual image in a set of the images of the series of images, represents the one or more blobs in the individual image by one or more symbols in a histogram; and analyzes the symbols appearing in the histogram to count the people in the image.

摘要: An improved tool for locking a band clamp, and an improved lock for a band clamp is disclosed. The tool includes a knife body having a knife edge that progressively cuts the free end of the band over a period of time, rather than simultaneously cutting the entire band width. In one embodiment, this is accomplished with a knife edge that is non-linear. The tool further includes a punch with a rounded or hemispherical shaped leading tip that forms an improved locking dimple. The locking dimple forms an improved lock having side walls that are, at least in part, parallel with the walls of the surrounding aperture in the band. By varying the profile of the knife edge, the punch can more fully form an improved locking dimple.

摘要: The present invention relates to a web-based software application, in which a server at a publisher compiles a predetermined list of items, such as regulatory, contract, budgeting, and legal issues, and stores them for periodic download to a client. The client would subscribe to the publisher, to receive information on a predetermined set of items. Periodically the server will scan its database and according to the client subscription, will retrieve and forward the predetermined items desired, to the client. The forwarded items will be compiled by the client and presented to the user in an easily viewable and searchable format. The user may choose a particular item to review, and then, if the user determines the item to be a relevant one, the user may transfer the item information to a monitoring software application for future monitoring and/or internal implementation as an issue.

摘要: An apparatus and method for processing audience measurement data detects and corrects one or more corrupted time codes. The corrupted time codes are identified by calculating a first set of intervals between a set of read times that may, but need not, be consecutive, each of which corresponds to one of the time codes extracted from a broadcast signal. The first set of intervals are compared to a second set of intervals between the time codes to identify when one or more of the second intervals do not meet a predetermined criteria. At least one of the time codes associated with each of the second intervals that do not meet the criteria is identified as being corrupted. The method used to calculate a corrected time code involves using the magnitude of the corresponding first interval to calculate the corrected time code.

摘要: An integrated fan pump includes a fan, a pump, and an electrical drive mechanism such as an electric motor configured to simultaneously drive both the fan and pump with respect to the housing. A heat exchanger is preferably connected to the pump and the component to be cooled. In one embodiment, the fan head and the pump head are fixed to a common axle, a single magnet is fixed to the fan head, and the magnetic coil is fixed to the housing. In another embodiment, the fan head and pump head rotate about a fixed axle, the magnetic coil is fixed to said housing, one magnet is fixed to the fan head, and a second magnet is fixed to the pump head.

摘要: A heat transfer system is presented for managing thermal transients, thus providing engineers greater flexibility in designing thermal solutions for applications subject to transient heat-generation. A heat reservoir device for managing a heat input subject to transient conditions includes a heat transfer subsystem having a first end and a second end, where the first end is thermally coupled to the heat input; a heat storage subsystem coupled to the second end of the heat transfer subsystem, where the heat storage subsystem comprises a phase change material responsive to the transient conditions. The excess heat load during transient operation is temporarily absorbed by the latent heat of fusion when the phase change material changes its phase from solid to liquid. Subsequently, the absorbed heat can be released back to the ambient via a heat rejection subsystem. This allows engineers to design smaller heat sinks capable of accommodating given transient conditions. This results in heat sinks which are lower cost and smaller size, or which reduce the requirement to provide higher airflow, thereby also decreasing cost and noise, and increasing reliability.

摘要: A method and apparatus to heat-activate hydrogen of water for powering rotational, reaction-thrust and projectile-expulsion embodiments (19, 60, 61, 75) of a water engine (10) with hydrogen energy of water which is spray-atomized and electrically heated internally in one or more hydrogen activators (1). Water-hydrogen electrons of the spray-atomized water are heat-activated up to exponentially greater output heat-activation energy than input activation-heat energy added electrically with power generated from forms of the water engine. A minor portion of the output heat-activation energy of the water hydrogen is utilized for generating electrical current for the input activation heat of the spray-atomized water in the hydrogen activators. Net output heat-activation pressure of water-hydrogen is directed from one or more of the hydrogen activators to one or more use chambers (9) of universal-use forms of the water engine. Rotational features of the water engine preferably employ a turbocam drive (20).
