    Abstract: The disclosure is detecting an authentication target who is moving in a predetermined direction in a video; inputting a first image in which an entire body of the target; calculating characteristic information from an image of the entire body in the first image, comparing the calculated characteristic information with characteristic information of the entire body stored in first memory that stores characteristic information of entire bodies of targets, and extracting candidate information of the targets from the first memory based on a first authentication result; inputting a second image in which an iris of the target; and comparing characteristic information of irises stored in second memory that stores the characteristic information of the irises of targets with characteristic information of an iris from the second image, calculating a verification score, executing second authentication on the target in the second image based on the verification score, and outputting an authentication result.

    Abstract: An image processing system includes a storage device, and a processor coupled to the storage device and configured to extract, from an input image, an aerosol spectrum across a plurality of wavelength bands of the input image. The storage device contains therein a database storing a plurality of predetermined aerosol spectra, and a plurality of corresponding values associated with an aerosol optical property at the plurality of wavelength bands. The processor is further configured to retrieve, from the database, values associated with the aerosol optical property at the plurality of wavelength bands, the retrieved values corresponding to the extracted aerosol spectrum. The processor is further configured to correct the input image, by using the retrieved values associated with the aerosol optical property at the plurality of wavelength bands, to generate a corrected image.

    Abstract: A method includes: calculating a pixel statistical value and edge of pixels for each of areas of a multi-layer, the areas each containing a target pixel and having a successively decreased range; correcting the edge based on a pixel statistical value of an area that is wider than an area of a specific layer; correcting difference between a pixel statistical value of the specific layer and the pixel statistical value of a layer that is wider than the specific layer using the post-correction edge; correcting the pixel statistical value of the specific layer using post-correction difference and the pixel statistical value of the layer that is wider than the specific layer; and correcting the target pixel by repeating correction of the pixel statistical value successively in each layer until the area reduces its range from the maximum range to the minimum range.
