Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for generating and communicating reference signals. Certain aspects provide a method for communicating reference signals. The method includes selecting a reference sequence of a plurality of reference sequences to transmit in a cell in a synchronization signal block (SSB) based at least on a logical value, wherein the logical value is determined based on a SSB index indicating a location of the SSB within a set of resources of a plurality of sets of resources and at least one of a cell ID of the cell, a set index indicating a location of the set of resources within the plurality of sets of resources, or a second value based on system information corresponding to the cell; and transmitting the selected reference sequence in the SSB.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to performing hybrid grant-free and grant-based uplink (UL) data transmission. A wireless communication device dynamically selects between a grant-free mode and a grant-based mode based on at least a transmission configuration. The wireless communication device sends a first data packet in the grant-free mode, based on the selecting, using a first UL resource. The wireless communication device sends a second data packet in the grant-based mode, based on the selecting, using a second UL resource allocated to the wireless communication device. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

The uplink channel raster can be shifted, in frequency, with respect to a legacy uplink channel raster of a legacy communication technology to facilitate coexistence, in an uplink carrier, of the uplink channel and one or more uplink channels of the legacy communication technology.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may transmit feedback, such as hybrid automatic repeat request (HARD) feedback for groups of code blocks rather than for an entire transport block or individual code blocks. The wireless device may transmit an acknowledgement (ACK) or negative-acknowledgement (NACK) to provide feedback for each code block group of a set of code block groups. An ACK may indicate that code blocks in a code block group were successfully decoded, and a NACK may indicate that at least one code block in a code block group was not successfully decoded. Wireless devices may support several techniques for grouping code blocks for feedback reporting to allow for efficient retransmissions and limited overhead. Different grouping schemes may be employed depending on system constraints, device capability, link conditions, or the like.

Abstract: Various aspects described herein relate to techniques for mobility mode selection in uplink-based and downlink-based mobility in wireless communications systems. In an aspect, a method for wireless communications may include determining that a user equipment (UE) is operating in a first mobility mode, determining whether the UE satisfies at least one condition associated with mobility of the UE for mobility mode selection, and selecting a second mobility mode based on a determination that the UE satisfies the at least one condition, wherein each of the first mobility mode and the second mobility mode is an uplink mobility mode or a downlink mobility mode. The techniques described herein may apply to different communications technologies, including the 5th Generation (5G) New Radio (NR) communications technology.

Abstract: Aspects related to pre-configuring for a serving cell change to neighbor cells are described. In one example, a user equipment (UE) may camp on a first cell. The UE may receive at least one communication including target cell pre-configuration information for one or more neighbor cells eligible for pre-configuration. The UE may determine that the first cell is no longer providing adequate service and identify a target cell, which may be one of the one or more neighbor cells, but is not part of an active set for the UE. The UE may transmit a message (e.g., Event 1d) requesting a serving cell change to the target cell. The UE may configure to receive service from the target cell based on the pre-configuration information associated with the target cell. The UE may receive an indication to perform the serving cell change and perform the serving cell change.
