Abstract:
An apparatus for plotting a tread pattern on a vulcanized tire (2 ) which is mounted to a rim (7 ) rotatably supported by a primary framework (5 ) and oscillatable about two axes (Z, X) perpendicular to each other and to the axis of rotation (Y) of the tire (2 ). A signal from an electronic computer into which a base data sequence relating to a trace pattern to be reproduced on the tire is stored, is fed with a detection data sequence relating to the surface extension of said tire. The base data are processed depending on the detection data sequence for creating an application data sequence, so that, based on said application data, the electronic computer operates a laser beam emitter (10 ) carrying out plotting of the required trace pattern on the outer surface of the tire, as the sum of subsequent distinct portions, each of them being plotted, while the tire is stationary, through oscillations of the laser beam within a cone of predetermined width.
Abstract:
A process and apparatus for identifying defects within the structure of a tubular sleeve used to make toothed belts, the sleeve, having a toothed inner surface 2a, is operatively mounted on rollers 5, 6 operable in rotation to move the sleeve transversely to the extension of the teeth 3. An ultrasonic emitting and receiving member 15 movable parallel to the rollers 5, 6 detects the presence of structural cavities 3a in the sleeve. An electronic processing unit 20 carries out the identification and memorization of the position of the structural cavities 3a on the longitudinal extension of the sleeve 2.
Abstract:
A flexible mounting (2) having a ring made of elastomeric material (3) fixedly engaged between an inner metal collar (4) and an outer metal collar (5) is mechanically stressed so that it undergoes a gradual elastic deformation corresponding to a relative displacement of 15 mm between the collars in a period of 20 seconds. Acoustic transducers (7) carry out the detection of the acoustic emissions occurring within the mounting itself and caused by structural instabilities arising in the flexible mounting while it is deformed. The acoustic transducers convert the acoustic emissions to electric signals that, after suitable amplification and discrimination, provide a reliable quality evaluation of the mounting being tested.
Abstract:
An emergency device is provided to enable a number of people to be transferred between two areas far apart from each other. The device includes a flat relatively stiff plate capable of being rolled up upon itself and susceptible of longitudinal and transverse deformations according to curvilinear profiles, and plate-deforming elements to change the plate from a flat configuration to an operational one including successive transversely oriented hollow portions. The deformation elements can be a waterproof fabric layer joined to the plate sides and provided with tubular ducts extending over the entire length of the plate. Under operating conditions, the plate is unrolled and the tubular ducts are inflated with pressurized fluid to deform the plate according to the successive hollow portions. The upper layer of the fabric can form an emergency slipway for a plurality of people and the lower hollow-shaped plate can provide a slipway for moving articles.
Abstract:
A device associated with a gas mask suitable for introducing liquid substances to the user of the mask. The liquid substances are contained in a container provided with a penetrating or syringe-shaped nozzle. The device comprises a tubular conduit inside the mask having at least one elbow portion elastically deformable from a first idle position to a second position at or adjacent the user's mouth and vice versa, respectively, when the penetrating nozzle is introduced inside the conduit through the entire elbow portion and withdrawn from the same elbow portion.
Abstract:
A solar roof for a building which is transparent to sunlight and protects the building from weather has a synthetic resinous thermal insulating pad disposed on a rigid substrate which closes the top of the building. Laterally spaced plate members are disposed on the pad. Each plate member has conduits therein for carrying a fluid to be heated by solar energy. Means are provided for circulating fluid through the conduits and to a vessel for storing the fluid after it is heated. A generally U-shaped support member having a closed bottom which rests on the pad is disposed in each space between the plate members. The two upstanding legs of the support member terminate in ends having longitudinally extending flanges. A sheet transparent to solar energy is disposed on the flanges and seals the spaces between adjacent U-shaped support members.
Abstract:
A method and system for generating electric energy in a tire includes a device including a housing that extends according to a longitudinal axis X, at least one electrical winding, a magnet movable within the housing along the longitudinal axis, and a force providing element positioned at at least one of two opposite ends of the housing, which is adapted to exert on the magnet a force along said longitudinal axis. The device is fixed on a crown portion of the tire; the tire is rotated on a rolling surface so as to determine variations of forces that act on the device every time the device passes, due to the rolling of the tire, at a footprint of the tire; the force exerted by the force providing element and the variations of forces along the longitudinal axis are exploited so as to cause variations of the magnet position with respect to the at least one electrical winding; and the electric energy generated across the at least one electrical winding as a consequence of the variations of the position of the magnet with respect to the electrical winding is collected.
Abstract:
