摘要: A drug administration system includes a cradle attached about an intravenous injection port having a flange extending therefrom. The cradle supports first drug administration information in the nature of machine and human readable code, for example, barcode. A syringe including a needle includes a flange extending from the syringe. The syringe supports second drug administration information in machine and/or human readable form. A scanner module is constructed to slidably receive the flange of the cradle and syringe whereby the syringe needle is aligned with the intravenous injection port. The module may be provided with an electronic scanning system for identifying the first and second drug administration information, as well as determining the amount of the drug being administered from the syringe to the injection port by monitoring movement of the syringe plunger. The information and data may be stored within the module for uploading to a remote location.

摘要: Electrical receptacle connectors are provided including an insulative housing and AC power contacts disposed therein that are configured for engaging an external power supply. The receptacle connectors are employed with a safety guard for restricting operator access to hot AC power contacts when disconnected from complementary header connectors. Preferred safety guards include projections extending along at least a portion of perimeter areas surrounding housing apertures that provide access to engaging portions of the AC power contacts. The projections define a safety gap between human digits directed toward the housing apertures and the AC power contacts.

摘要: A hydrogen diffusion port for use in a packaged electronic device. In one embodiment, the hydrogen window is characterized by a substantial absence of plating from the external surfaces of the cover the base. The hydrogen diffusion port is selected from the group of materials consisting of palladium and its alloys, platinum and its alloys and titanium and its alloys The cover is welded to the base, and the hydrogen diffusion port is affixed to an aperture in the cover. The port is affixed by a low temperature process that can be accomplished after the cover is attached to the base to form a housing and the housing is degassed, without compromising the electronics within the housing and that does not require a partial pressure of hydrogen (which may be reintroduced into the materials) to accomplish, such as by soldering the diffusion port into the cover aperture, or by swaging the diffusion port into the cover aperture.

摘要: A system for anonymously initiating communication between system-connected communications devices is provided wherein the initiation of communication results from comparison and priority matching of profile information shared between the devices. The system in one aspect comprises at least two communications devices connected to the system, the communications devices having at least a microprocessor, a data-input mechanism, a display screen, a wireless local-area-network protocol application enhanced with short-wave radio communication capability installed per instance to each of the devices, and a profile comparison and matching application installed per instance to each of the devices. When any two of the devices come into short-wave radio range of each other, the devices activated, a wireless local-area-network is established and the in-range devices swap profiles, which are compared to profiles held locally on each device such that a profile match registering on at least one device enables the device matching the profile to signal the sending device of the matched profile in order to request communication between the devices.

摘要: A system and method are disclosed for partitioning a real-value windowed attribute into ranges, wherein the values within each range generally correspond to a particular class of results associated with runs of a process. The system and method determines a low range having attribute values generally corresponding to a first class, a middle range having attribute values generally corresponding to a second class, and an upper range having attribute values generally corresponding to the first class. The system and method may be used in a system that produces an induction tree useful in developing an indication of a cause of a particular result of a process from values associated with at least one real-valued, windowed attribute that arises during the runs of the process.

摘要: A structure for eyeglass frames which incorporates an improved frontal support assembly and adjustable temples. Left and right ocular frames are interconnected, each being laterally supported by an adjustable temple assembly. To support the eyeglass frames on the user, a pair of upper frontal spacers extend rearwardly from the member interconnecting the ocular frames. The upper frontal spacers are adapted to be placed adjacent the user's brow precluding contact with the nose of the user. Lower frame spacers depend rearwardly from the lower extent of each of the ocular frames and are adapted to be placed adjacent the cheekbones of the user. The upper frontal supports and lower frame supports insure the ocular frames are appropriately spaced from the user's eye while simultaneously preventing the eyeglass frames from slipping or otherwise being inadvertently displaced.

摘要: A broadcast and reception system provides a segmented broadcast signal for providing regional traffic information and a receiver adapted to receive selected segments of that broadcast. The segmented broadcast signal includes a number of segments which each include a tone sequence, a digital regional code, a digital duration code, and an audio segment. The receiver monitors selected regional traffic segments and converts the selected audio segment to a form compatible with a standard automotive radio. Thus, a user can selectively monitor regional traffic information without having to listen to reports from regions of no interest to him. Alternatively, the selected traffic information can automatically override normal radio listening.

摘要: Monoclonal antibodies are described which are potent reagents for the immunologic definition of hairy leukemic cells.S-HCL 1 is a pan-B cell marker with markedly increased staining on hairy cells versus normal B-lymphocytes. It also stains with a variety of B-cell leukemias and lymphomas, but is not crossreactive with any other cell type in man. With these features, it is also a useful reagent for the detection of human B-lymphocytes.S-HCL-3 monoclonal antibody recognizes an antigen present on entirely different cell lineages, namely macrophages of almost all tissues and polymorphonuclear cells. This antigen is not expressed on any other malignant lymphocytes except hairy cells. Moreover, this antigen is not found on other non-Hodgkin lymphomas which may resemble hairy cell leukemia. Accordingly, b-HCl-3 is useful in the diagnosis of hairy cell leukemic.

摘要: A device for creating an operative space within a body lumen for the performance of a medical procedure, including a pressurizable, expandable balloon element insertable into the body lumen. The balloon element includes an interior space for receiving an inflation fluid. The device further includes an ingress valve coupled with the balloon element and insertable therewith into the body lumen. The ingress valve is capable of being opened to allow the interior space to be filled with the inflation fluid and closed to retain the inflation fluid in the interior space. The device may also include an egress valve coupled with the balloon element and insertable therewith into the body lumen. The egress valve is closed when the interior space is filled with the inflation fluid and is capable of being opened to allow the inflation fluid to vent from the interior space.
