Abstract: A disposable container for solvent contaminated wipes and a method of using the disposable container to prevent solvent contaminated wipes from spontaneously combusting is disclosed. The disposable container may be a flexible bag made of a material having a solvent-resistant, non-permeable layer and optionally other layers. The disposable container has an oxygen-reduction system including an air-tight seal, which may be formed in a variety of ways, and an oxygen-removal mechanism, such as a small pump that is integral to the flexible bag or a pump outlet that can be connected to an external pump.

Abstract: Methods and systems for generating escape routes are provided. With a home owner's or insured's permission, a smart home controller or insurance provider remote processor may analyze data received from a plurality of smart devices disposed on, within, or proximate to a home, as well as data received from an insurance provider. If it is determined that an emergency situation necessitating an evacuation exists, the smart home controller or insurance provider remote processor may automatically generate escape routes to guide occupants to safety. The smart home controller may then transmit the generated escape routes to inform occupants of emergency situation and how to reach safety. The smart home controller and/or insurance provider may also issue commands to smart devices to ensure the safety of the generated escape routes. Insurance policies, premiums, or discounts may be adjusted based upon the escape route determination functionality.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing the operation of devices within a property, and processing insurance policies associated therewith. A property is populated with a plurality of smart devices, smart appliances, and/or other devices that are connected to, and/or in wired or wireless communication with a central controller, such as a smart home controller or insurance provider remote processor, whereby the plurality of devices and/or property are covered by an insurance policy. The central controller may collect sensor data from the plurality of devices and/or determine whether the property is occupied or not. The central controller may also identify a desired operating state of a device, generate a command according to the desired operating state, and/or transmit the command the device to facilitate prevention or reduction of risk or damage to the property. The central controller may also generate and/or process insurance claims associated with damage to the devices and/or property.

Abstract: A video flame detection system and method for controlling a range. The system includes a video flame detector assembly coupled to an electric range and having a camera. A relay control board is coupled to the video flame detector assembly and includes a smoke contact, a flame contact, a relay module, a processor, and a memory coupled to the processor. A range control system is coupled to the relay control board and includes a control relay. When the video flame detector assembly detects smoke, the video flame detector assembly activates the smoke contact of the relay module, causing the range control system to modulate the electric current of a heating element of the range according to at least one of a first pattern or a second pattern.

Abstract: Methods and systems for processing insurance policies associated with properties may be provided. A property may be populated with a plurality of smart devices or devices that are connected to a central controller, such as via wired or wireless communication. The plurality of devices may be covered by an insurance policy, such as a homeowners, renters, or personal articles insurance policy. The central controller may detect an insurance-related event and may retrieve sensor data and pricing information from one or more of the devices. The central controller may assess damage to the devices and may generate a proposed insurance claim based upon damage to the identified devices. Additionally, the central controller may facilitate a processing of the proposed insurance claim with a customer and an insurance provider. The smart devices may be, or be attached to, appliances, electronics, computers, televisions, jewelry, vehicles, furniture, or other equipment or personal belongings.

Abstract: The following relates generally to providing virtual reality (VR) alerts to a driver of an autonomous vehicle. For example, a vehicle may be driving autonomously while the driver is watching a VR movie (e.g., on a pair of VR goggles); the driver may then receive a VR alert recommending that the driver take control of the vehicle (e.g., switch the vehicle from autonomous to manual mode). Abstract: Methods and systems for charging an electric vehicle (EV) are described herein. An EV may require additional battery power to reach a charging station. A remote server in communication with the EV or an on-board computer or mobile device in the EV may obtain data to determine a location for the EV to meet a charging vehicle. The charging vehicle may be dispatched to meet the EV and deliver power to it, enabling the EV to reach a charging station or other destination. In some examples, the charging vehicle may deliver power to the EV while both vehicles are stationary. In other examples, the charging vehicle may couple to the EV while both vehicles are in motion.

Abstract: Methods and systems for automatically mitigating risks of insurance-related events to a property are provided. According to certain aspects, a smart home controller or insurance provider remote processor may analyze data received from a plurality of smart devices disposed on, within, or proximate to a property, as well as data received from an insurance provider. If it is determined that an actual or potential risk of property damage exists, the smart home controller or insurance provider remote processor may automatically issue commands to one or more smart devices to take actions that mitigate the risk. The smart home controller may also transmit information about the actual or potential risks and any mitigative actions to an insurance provider. The insurance provider remote processor may interpret the transmitted data to perform insurance activities, such as providing a discount and/or adjusting an insurance premium or policy associated with the property.
