    摘要： A recording apparatus includes a recording head having plural recording heads, a test pattern recorded for recording a test pattern, a read-out for reading out the test pattern which was recorded by the test pattern recorder, a correction data setting device for setting shading correction data used when the recording head records based on the read-out data from the read-out, and a modification device that modifies the test pattern recorder and/or the correction data setting device in response to at least one of a recording mode of the recording apparatus, the state of the recording head, or the state of the test pattern recorder. Alternatively, the recording head can be driven by comparing identification information read out from a second memory with recording head identification information stored in a first memory, and selectively driving the recording head using second shading correction data read out from the second memory or first shading correction data read out from the first memory, depending upon whether two types of recording head identification information are equal.

    摘要： An ink jet recording device having scanning means for scanning an ink jet recording head having plural arrays in a scanning direction, wherein each of the arrays has discharge ports such that each of the arrays discharges a different color ink, supplying means for supplying recording signals corresponding to a first recording area to plural of ink discharge energy generating elements, conveying means for conveying a recording medium relative to the recording head, and control means for controlling the ink jet recording head, the supplying means and conveying means so that when the control means operates in a first recording mode, a recording covering the first recording area is produced by one of the arrays during one scanning operation, and when the control means operates in a second recording mode a recording covering a second recording area which is smaller than the first recording area is produced by each of the arrays during one scanning operation. The control means selects the recording mode at least according to a number of colors of an image to be recorded on the recording medium and the second recording area produced by respective arrays during the one scanning operation are not overlapped in the scanning direction.

    摘要： An ink jet recording device includes scanning means for scanning ink jet recording heads in a scanning direction, each of the recording heads having plural ink discharge generating elements and plural discharge ports associated therewith, the discharge ports being adapted to perform a recording operation within a recording area which is a total area covered by the discharge ports during one scanning operation, supplying means for supplying recording signals corresponding to the recording area to a group of the ink discharge energy generating elements, and conveying means for conveying a recording medium relative to the recording heads. A control means controls the ink jet recording heads, supplying means and conveying means so that when the control means operates in a first recording mode, a recording within the recording area is completed in a single scanning operation, and when the control means operates in a second recording mode, the recording within the recording area is completed by plural scanning operations such that the recording area is subjected to the overlapped recordings by different discharge ports. The control means selects the recording mode according to a condition relating at least to a material quality of the recording medium.

    摘要： This invention is a recording head cartridge which includes a plurality of inks having a density difference for an ink of one color, includes recording heads on a single substrate or in an adjacent aligned state, and integrates ink tanks for the plurality of inks, so as to reliably perform gradation recording while achieving a simple control circuit, and improvement in operability upon replacement. This invention also provides a structure in which ink tanks in the cartridge are integrated to determine a light/depth printing order, and have different volumes so as to improve advantages of replacement.
