    摘要: The present invention relates to a method of preparing an electrode comprising providing an electrode substrate, depositing on said electrode substrate a first substantially aqueous coating solution comprising precursors of a valve metal oxide and of at least two platinum group metal oxides, treating the first coating solution to provide a first metal oxide coating layer on the electrode substrate, depositing on said first coating layer a second substantially organic coating solution comprising precursors of a valve metal oxide and at least one platinum group metal oxide, wherein at least one of the precursors is in organic form, treating said second coating solution to provide a second metal oxide coating layer on the first coating layer. The invention also relates to an electrode obtainable by said method, and the use thereof.

    摘要: The invention relates to an electrolytic cell, and a method for manufacturing such cell. The cell comprises an anode and a cathode compartment, a separator partitioning the compartments, gas diffusion electrode members arranged to the separator with a space between adjacent electrode members in the vertical direction, and current collector members electrically connected to the electrode members. The current collector members comprise resilient means arranged to homogenise the contact between the electrode members, the current collector and the separator. The invention also relates to the use of the electrolytic cell for production of e.g. alkali metal hydroxide.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a retrofitted electrolytic cell and a method for retrofitting an electrolytic cell comprising an anode and a cathode compartment, a separator partitioning the compartments, said cathode compartment comprising a hydrogen evolving cathode. The method comprises making at least one substantially horizontal slit in the hydrogen evolving cathode resulting in plural cathode members, bending the edge of at least one cathode member at the slit away from the separator, arranging a gas diffusion electrode to the cathode members on the side facing the separator, and arranging an electrolyte layer to the gas diffusion electrode. The invention also relates to the use of a retrofitted electrolytic cell.

A process for producing a titanium or titanium alloy composite having a porous surface layer, comprising: providing a coating composition comprising a binder added to a mixture of a titanium or titanium alloy powder and a magnesium powder; applying said composition to the surface of a titanium or titanium alloy substrate; heating the substrate at a temperature of from 650.degree. to 800.degree. C. in vacuo or an inert atmosphere so as to form a sinter of the powders of titanium or titanium alloy and magnesium which firmly adheres to said substrate; and removing magnesium from said sinter.

    摘要: A method for forming an anticorrosive coating on the surface of a metal substrate, which comprises, in one embodiment, (1) coating the surface of the metal substrate with an anticorrosive metal capable of forming an alloy with the substrate metal and/or a hydride of the anticorrosive metal; (2) heating the coated surface, and then; (3) heating the coated surface in a vacuum or in an atmosphere substantially inert to the metal coating and the metal substrate by irradiating the coated surface with electron beams, laser beams or a plasma arc to sinter the coated metal and form an alloy layer in the interface between the metal substrate and the metal coating and, in another embodiment, subsequent to Step (2) and prior Step (3) above, coating the coated surface with a solution of a thermally decomposable platinum-group metal compound and then heating the resulting coated surface at about 40.degree. C. to about 600.degree. C.
