摘要: An annular mold having a molding surface for forming a tread pattern of a tire is divided, at least in the peripheral direction, into plural pieces. The plural pieces are disposed adjacent to one another via adjacent surfaces, which are peripheral direction division surfaces, so as to form the annular mold. Substantially an entire molding-surface-side side edge portion of each adjacent surface of the piece is cut-out at a narrow width such that a gap for air venting is formed. Thus, at a low cost, a mold for molding a tire is provided in which there is no spewing, and air can always be reliably vented without a need for applying a vacuum.

摘要: The portable electronic apparatus has a box-like casing having a peripheral wall, and a pack receptacle defined within the casing. The pack receptacle has an opening portion opened in the peripheral wall. A packaged functional component is stored in the pack receptacle, such that the functional component can be detached therefrom through the opening portion. The pack receptacle of the casing is provided with a locking member for holding the functional component. The locking member is movable by manual operation between a locked position where the locking member is hooked on the functional component and a lock-released position where the locking member leaves the functional component. The pack receptacle is provided with a spring for energizing the functional component in the direction in which the functional component is pushed out through the opening portion. The opening portion of the casing and the locking member are covered with a detachable cover.

摘要: A dispersion compensation device comprises a chirped grating, and a first optical unit for guiding at least a lightwave signal with a wavelength of &lgr;i that needs a positive dispersion compensation and is applied thereto to one end portion of the chirped grating whose grating pitch is shorter, and for furnishing light reflected by the chirped grating to outside the device. The device further comprises a second optical unit for guiding at least a lightwave signal with a wavelength of &lgr;i that needs a negative dispersion compensation and is applied thereto to another end portion of the chirped grating whose grating pitch is longer, and for furnishing light reflected by the chirped grating to outside the device. Both the first and second optical units can be either optical circulators or optical couplers.

摘要: A dry analytical element for quantitatively analyzing creatine kinase is composed of a support and a creatine kinase-detecting agent layer. The creatine kinase-detecting agent layer contains creatine phosphate and adenosine diphosphate which react with each other to give adenosine triphosphate in the presence of creatine kinase, a buffer compound having a sulfonic acid group which keeps the layer in the range of pH 5.5 to pH 8.5 for the formation of adenosine triphosphate, and an indicator composition which reacts with the formed adenosine triphosphate to give a spectroscopically detectable compound. An analytical element for analysis of creatine kinase MB isozyme further contains in the layer an antibody which specifically inhibits activity of M sub-unit of creatine kinase.

摘要: A control unit, such as an MPU in an external storage device or external storage control device, detects, on the basis of a Read or Write command, whether or not an internal reading or writing velocity is changed from one value to another value according to a zone of a storage medium. When the velocity is changed, the control unit calculates an optimal buffer full ratio or buffer empty ratio suitable for the velocity and sets the ratio in a data buffer control unit. Moreover, the control unit, such as an MPU, determines whether or not data requested by the Read or Write command resides over different zones in the storage medium. When the data resides over different zones, the control unit calculates one zone containing a majority of the requested data, works out an optimal buffer full ratio or buffer empty ratio according to a medium transfer rate associated with the zone, and sets the ratio in the data buffer control unit.
