摘要: A computer system and method for performing similarity searches which is phase and scale insensitive and which allows similarity searches to be performed at a semantic level. Each sequence in a database is preferably segmented at multiple projections and/or resolution levels. The sequences may represent object having multi-dimensional features such as temporal and/or spatial-temporal data. Preferably, the segmenting logic starts with the finest resolution, and each sequence is parsed into a number of disjointed segments, wherein each segment has uniform features. The uniform features could be segments having a constant slope, or waveform segments representable by a single function. The segments may then be re-sampled into a fixed length vector with appropriate normalization. A label may also be assigned to each segment via conventional clustering/classification methods. The above steps are iterated at successive projections and/or resolution levels until each sequence in the database has been independently segmented and clustered. Thus, the labels are preferably extracted in a pseudo-hierarchical manner in which the label of the lowest resolution representation of the sequence is extracted first. The representation of each time series at various resolutions and/or projections captures different characteristics of the same time series (or 2D/3D objects). Recall that each segment represents a region having uniform features. The segmentation at each individual resolution and/or projection thus enables recognition or emphasis of different characteristics within segments having uniform features.

摘要: A method and apparatus for measuring colorimetric, gloss and registration data on a substrate exiting a printing machine. A detector using a series of red, green, and blue filters collects image data and maps the collected data to absolute color coordinates. The apparatus is factory calibrated to the specific colorants used in the printing machine. Gloss measurements are made using the same apparatus. Registration data between the various color separations is also obtained and feedback delivered to the various imaging modules. The detector allows on the fly data to be obtained and machine specific corrections to be made.

摘要: This invention relates to a shock and impact testing apparatus for subjecting items under test, such as a motor vehicle crash sensor, to an acceleration pulse of a prescribed amplitude and shape, such as a half sine or haversine. The apparatus includes a stationary support providing a pivot point, a swivel arm mounted for rotational movement about the pivot point and an electric motor, arranged on the stationary support and mechanically coupled to the swivel arm, for rotating the swivel arm at a desired, prescribed speed. The arm has a free end for the attachment of the test object so that the test object is moved at the prescribed speed along a given path. A mechanical spring is arranged in this path for reversing the direction of motion of the test object, thereby imparting an acceleration pulse to the test object of a prescribed shape. The spring has a plurality of characteristic modes of vibration which provide different frequencies of vibration; however, the spring is constructed to reverse the direction of motion of the test object at substantially one frequency of vibration. The apparatus can also be used for subjecting a test object to a prescribed impact.

摘要: A crash sensor for a passive motor vehicle occupant restraint system, such as an inflatable air bag or seat belt tensioner. The crash sensor comprises a tubular passageway having a central, longitudinal axis; a sensing mass arranged to move within the passageway in the direction of the longitudinal axis between a first location and a second location; a device for biasing the sensing mass toward the first location in the passageway; and a device for closing an electrical circuit when the sensing mass moves to the second location in the passageway. The invention provides methods for reducing the motion of the sensing mass and the tubular passageway in a direction perpendicular to the longitude, and/or methods for reducing the angular momentum of the sensing mass, during motion of the sensing mass in the longitudinal direction.

摘要: In a computer system supporting memory compression, wherein memory compressed data is managed in units of memory sectors of size S, wherein data is stored on disk in a different compressed format, and wherein data on said disk is managed in units of disk sectors of size D, a method for storing memory compressed data on a compressed disk includes combining at least one of compressed memory directory information, a system header, compressed data controls, and pads into a data structure having a same size S as a memory sector, grouping the data structure and the data contained in the desired memory sectors into groups of D/S items, and storing each of the groups in a separate disk sector.

摘要: Arrangements and methods for performing structural clustering between different time series. Time series data relating to a plurality of time series is accepted, structural features relating to the time series data are ascertained, and at least one distance between different time series via employing the structural features is determined. The different time series may be partitioned into clusters based on the at least one distance, and/or the k closest matches to a given time series query based on the at least one distance may be returned.
