    摘要: An image processing apparatus and method for generating high-sensitive, high-brightness color images are disclosed. A second image having a wider band and higher-sensitivity than those of a first image which includes color information may be acquired, wherein the first and second images are images captured from a scene. A first transformed image having high brightness may be generated by performing binning on the first image, and edge information being a high-frequency component may be extracted from the second image. A high-brightness, high-sensitive color image may be generated using the first transformed image and the edge information.

    摘要: Provided are an image brightness controlling apparatus and method, and an adaptive brightness controlling apparatus and method based on the brightness degree and/or brightness range of an image. The image brightness controlling apparatus includes a brightness increment arithmetic unit for outputting a brightness increment for a pixel, and an individual component brightness increment arithmetic unit for outputting the brightness increments of individual components constituting the pixel in response to the brightness increment for a pixel. The individual component brightness increment arithmetic unit multiplies the brightness increment of the pixel by each of the unit vectors of the components constituting the pixel to obtain the brightness increments of the individual components. The image brightness controlling apparatus further includes an adder for adding the components constituting the pixel to the brightness increments of the components. The image brightness controlling apparatus and the adaptive image brightness controlling apparatus can maintain the sense of color of an image (e.g., the hue or chroma of an image) while increasing the brightness degree and brightness range of an image.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for rendering an image signal by adding another one color different from an inputted color, to an image signal composed of a predetermined number (for example, RGB) of components, is provided. The method for rendering image signals which represent a predetermined number of colors in an apparatus for rendering an image signal of which pixels have three sub-pixels, comprises (a) receiving a predetermined number of color signals and converting the predetermined number of color signals into four-color signals to be represented in the sub-pixels, (b) selecting two-color signals to be outputted alternatively in every other pixels out of the four-color signals and selecting only one-color signal for each position of a pixel area from the two-color signal, (c) recalculating a level value of the selected one-color signal to be represented in the sub-pixels, and (d) controlling image signals to be represented in the sub-pixels according to the level value of the one-color signal calculated in (c).
