    摘要: An image pickup apparatus includes an automatic exposure controller automatically controls ISO sensitivity in response to the output signal of an exposure metering circuit, and controls the exposure so that exposure setting is determined based on the brightness values of both the central photometry area and the remaining photometry area of an imaging frame. The automatic exposure controller controls the exposure setting so that when the ISO sensitivity is set to its higher value, the weighting factor of the central photometry area is higher than that of the remaining photometry area. The automatic exposure controller further determines whether or not a light source is behind an object, and, if it is the case, reduces the adjusted exposure setting so as to increase the amount of light incident on the image pickup apparatus.

    摘要: An image combined high sensitivity image and low sensitivity image is provided with well-adjusted white balance and broad dynamic range. The image is obtained by multiplying the combined data by total gain that depends on scene. A white balance is adjusted with gain value calculated from of high output image data. Lv value representing luminance is calculated and compared with a threshold to decide whether or not the high sensitivity image and the low sensitivity image should be combined. First gamma correction unit performs gamma-correction for the image signal derived from the high sensitivity signal with first gamma character, second gamma correction unit performs gamma-correction for the image signal derived from the low sensitivity signal with second gamma character that is different from the first gamma character, and addition unit combines the image signal from the first gamma correction unit and the image signal from the second gamma correction unit.

    摘要: A composite image having a natural appearance is obtained when a synthesis target image is combined with a background image. By photographing a subject under different photographic conditions, a plurality of synthesis target images are obtained and the resulting image data is stored beforehand in a synthesis target image memory. A background image is acquired by photography and a suitable synthesis target image to be combined with the background image is selected by a circuit which searches synthesis target images. A color correction is applied to the selected synthesis target image by an image processing circuit and the synthesis target image following the color correction is combined with the background image. Since a synthesis target image suitable for combination with a background image is selected and then is subjected to a color correction and image synthesis processing, a composite image having a natural appearance is obtained.

    摘要: An image print system including a client system connected to a server through the Internet. The client system makes an access to the server. In response to the access, the server delivers an application program including a reference image containing a picture pattern for detecting a controlled state of a display device in the client system. The client system displays on the display device the reference image taken by an image pickup device photographing an original image to be printed. Receiving the reference image data and the original image data from the image pickup device, the client system transfers them to the server. The server reproduces, in accordance with the reference image data, the original image data exactly as viewed on the display device, and supplies a printer with image data obtained by adding a print processing to the reproduced image data to be printed out. This enables the original image to be reproduced just as displayed on the display device of any user.

Data representing saturation equal to or greater than a threshold value is subjected to non-linear compression so as to render the data reproducible by the output unit. Since only the necessary saturation is compressed, an image having a saturation close to the saturation represented by the original input saturation data can be reproduced in the output unit.
