摘要： Methods and apparatus for transmitting Asynchronous Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ) process identities in a wireless communication system. A linking scheme is established between at least two sets of process identities of two respective corresponding codewords. When a first process identity is selected from among a first set of process identities of a first codeword, a second process identity may be derived in dependence upon the first process identity and the established linking scheme. Finally, a first packet from the first codeword is transmitted using a first transmission channel indicated by the first process identity, and a second packet is transmitted from the second codeword using a second transmission channel indicated by the second process identity. In addition, a control message including only the first process identity is transmitted.

摘要： For use in a wireless communication network, methods for encoding information bit streams at a relay station are provided. Each method includes receiving data packets from a base station and a mobile station. Each method also includes decoding the packets and re-encoding the packets. Each method further includes combining the re-encoded packets into another packet using an XOR operation, and transmitting the other packet to the base station and the mobile station.

摘要： A system and method for relaying communications in a wireless communication network. A relay station capable of relaying wireless communications includes a plurality of receiver antennas and a plurality of transmitter antennas. The plurality of receiver antennas is operable to receive, in a first time interval, a first communication from a base station and a second communication from a subscriber station. The plurality of transmitter antennas is operable transmit a third communication to the base station and the subscriber station in a second time interval. The relay station also includes a network encoder. The network encoder is configured to generate a combined symbol constellation. The combined symbol constellation is generated by combining a first symbol constellation transmitted in said first communication with a second symbol constellation transmitted in said second communication. Further, the third communication comprises said combined symbol constellation.

The mapping of the modulation symbols in at least one resource region is independent of a certain control channel information that is carried in said time domain subframe, and the mapping of the modulation symbols in at least another resource region is dependent upon said certain control channel information that is carried in said subframe. The information to be transmitted may be encoded to generate a plurality of code blocks, with roughly equal number of resource elements assigned to each of the plurality of code blocks in at least one resource region. Alternatively, the time domain subframe may contain only one resource region.

The mobile station is further configured to enter a battery power preservation mode. The battery power preservation mode may include an enhanced idle mode, an enhanced sleep mode, or a persistent allocation mode.
