摘要： A database management system for executing database operations in parallel by a plurality of nodes and a query processing method for it are described. The database management system contains a decision management node for deciding a distribution node for retrieving information so as to analyze a query received from an application program, generate a processing procedure for processing the query, and execute the process and a join node for sorting, merging, and joining the information retrieved by the distribution node. When the query process is executed, the distribution node decided by the decision management node retrieves the information to be processed and the join node decided by the decision management node also obtains the result for the query from the retrieved information. The query result is outputted from an output node and transferred to the application program.

摘要： A multiplex type transmitting apparatus is arranged to have a plurality of slow signal receive/transmit sections for accommodating a counterpart for a SONET system or an SDH system, a multiplex separation converting section, and a receive/transmit section for a SONET system or SDH system fast signal. The slow or fast signal receive/transmit section includes a receive processing unit on a receive side for receiving the SS bits of the SONET/SDH system signal received from a transmission path, an internal SS bits setting unit for setting the SS bits of the received signal to internal SS bits if the SS bits of the received signal are “10” or “00”, a transmit processing unit on the receive side for transmitting a signal to the multiplex separation converting section as keeping the SS bits as “11” when an AIS-P is transferred, and a transmit processing unit on a transmit side for transmitting the signal from the multiplex separation converting section onto the transmission path as keeping the SS bits identical with the internal SS bits.

摘要： An optical transmission system accomplishes optical transmission to a long distance by combining a multiplexing line terminal with optical amplifiers, linear repeaters, and regenerators with optical amplifiers combined together. The system also accomplishes the optical transmission to a short distance by directly connecting the linear terminals therebetween, with an electric-to-optic converter replaced by an electric-to-optic converter having a semiconductor amplifier, with an optic-toelectric converter by an optic-to-electric converter having an avalanche photodiode as light receiver, an with no use of any optical booster amplifier and optical preamplifier in the multiplexing line terminal. With these, the optical transmission system can be easily constructed depending on the transmission distance required.
