Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for restricting the areas of contact between components to be plated or coated and liquid solutions containing plating or coating agents, without the use of masking tape. Components made of electrically conductive material are suspended underneath a hood or bell housing which is sized and shaped to receive those portions of the components that should not be plated (or coated). Then the suspended components and the hood or bell housing are fully immersed in a bath of plating (or coating) solution, forming an air pocket under the hood or bell housing. This air pocket surrounds those portions of the components which are not to be plated (or coated) and prevents the liquid solution in the bath from touching those portions. The air acts as a mask that prevents paint or metal from contacting or adhering to surfaces not to be plated (or coated).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for carrying out a paint touch up in a corner formed by the intersection of two planar sufaces disposed at right angle with respect to each other. Such a touch up device comprises a first part including a handle and provided with a rectangular plate for masking from the corner a portion of a first of the two surfaces. The touch up device also comprises a paint roller provided with a handle constituted by a rod and holding this roller at one end. The rod is bent in order to cooperate with a guiding system of the first part for the purpose of, when this first part masks the above-mentioned portion of the first surface, positioning the paint roller and guiding any movement along the corner transmitted to this roller through its handle so as to allow painting from the corner of a portion of the second of the two surfaces, which portion of the second surface corresponds to the portion of the first surface masked by the first part. Therefore, by appropriately handling the first part for masking from the corner a portion of the first surface, and the paint roller through its handle which cooperates with the guiding system, it is possible to paint from the corner a portion of the second surface without smearing the first surface protected by the rectangular plate of the first part, for thereby easily carrying out into practice the paint touch up. However, it should be pointed out that the use of the touch up device of the invention is not limited to paint but can also be used with any other coating applied in liquid state.
Abstract:
A mask includes a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, and has a total etching area and clearance areas. The mask has vias in the total etching area, and each via communicates the first surface with the second surface. The clearance areas are arranged in the total etching area, and the vias surround each clearance area. Each clearance area further has a through hole therein communicating the first surface with the second surface. Each clearance area is in a shape of a circle or a polygon. When each interior angle of the polygon is less than 120 degrees, the clearance area further comprises a first clearance region and a second clearance region surrounded by the first clearance region, and the mask has a plurality of etched grooves in the first clearance region. The disclosure further provides a manufacturing method of a mask.
Abstract:
A deposition mask including a resin film including first holes, a non-resin layer disposed on the resin film and including second holes corresponding to the first holes, and a protective layer disposed on the non-resin layer and including third holes corresponding to the first holes, wherein the protective layer includes a first portion disposed on a top surface of the non-resin layer, and a second portion covering a side surface of the second holes of the non-resin layer.
Abstract:
A thin film deposition apparatus according to an embodiment includes a chamber, a deposition source disposed in a chamber and that supplies a deposition material to the substrate, a mask assembly comprising pattern holes through which the deposition material passes, and an electrostatic chuck facing the mask assembly and that fixes the substrate. The electrostatic chuck comprises a body that supports the substrate, an insulating layer disposed on the body, a first electrode disposed in the insulating layer and spaced apart from the body by a first distance, a second electrode disposed in the insulating layer and spaced apart from the body by a second distance, and a conductive layer disposed in the insulating layer and spaced apart from the body by a third distance. The first electrode and the second electrode are supplied with different voltages, and the third distance is greater than the first distance.
Abstract:
A shield device may be secured, without the use of tape, to objects protruding from a surface to be painted in order to mask the objects. One or more magnets are secured around an opening of the shield device for securing to one another or the object. The shield device may also be used to cover parts of vehicles, machines, or other structures for enhancing safety. The shield device may be made of one or more panels of paint-impermeable material define an opening and an interior space extending from the opening toward a distal end of the one or more panels. A slit may extend from the opening partially toward the distal end. The magnets may be spaced apart from one another by a first distance with a second distance between magnets and sides of the slit being smaller.
Abstract:
A masking member includes: a masking main body that is formed of an elastic material and that closes an opening portion of a hollow member by being inserted into the opening portion; and a passage portion that is formed at the masking main body, that opens on an outer peripheral surface of the masking main body, and that connects an outside and an inside of the hollow member by at least a part of an opening at the outer peripheral surface being exposed to the outside of the hollow member in a case in which the masking main body, in a state of closing the opening portion, moves in a direction opposite from an insertion direction.
