Abstract:
A swivel-sliding door system for a vehicle having at least one door leaf situated in the vehicle wall in the closed state, and situated on the outside in front of the vehicle wall in the open state while leaving a door opening free. A drive as well as transverse and longitudinal guides are provided which enable a movement at the at least one door leaf transverse relative to the vehicle wall and along the vehicle wall, wherein the drive and the transverse and longitudinal guides are combined into one complete operating unit that can be mounted as one whole in the vehicle and be coupled to the at least one door leaf. The operating unit comprises a frame which, in assembled condition, is fixedly connected to the vehicle and an assembly which is movably provided in the frame and which comprises a drive motor for the door leaf movements. The frame may include a girder extending along the door opening and end flanges provided at the ends of the girder, wherein the movable assembly is movable along the end flanges, transversely to the vehicle wall and the girder, for executing a plug movement and wherein the drive motor effects both the plug movement and the longitudinal movement of the at least one door leaf along the vehicle wall.
Abstract:
An improved pulley set comprises a base defining a hollow space, one side of the hollow space forming a vertical wall having a screw hole and the other side of the hollow space forming an inclined wall, a guiding plane parallel to the inclined wall extending from the vertical wall, and positioning slots are respectively formed in the guiding plane and the inclined wall; a seat mounted within the hollow space of the base, tie seat having two inclined planes corresponding to the inclined wall and the guiding plane; and adjusting means disposed in the screw hole of the base for pushing against the seat such that adjusting the adjusting means will cause the seat to move along the inclined wall and the guiding plane of the base.
Abstract:
A sliding door arrangement with at least one door leaf mounted in a door frame includes a drive for moving the at least one door leaf. The at least one door leaf has a lateral closing edge and a running surface at the lateral closing edge. The door frame has a counter-support surface, wherein, in a closed position of the at least one door leaf, the running surface is located essentially immediately below the counter-support surface and the counter-support surface rests on the running surface for preventing lifting of the door leaf.
Abstract:
Constant balance of a varying load, particularly a window shade or blind, is maintained by providing a lifting force, preferably from a spring, through a mediating mechanism including a variable pitch screw arrangement, such that the mechanical advantage of the mediating mechanism changes to allow the continuously decreasing spring force to apply an appropriate lifting force at all times. The variable pitch screw preferably takes the form of a twisted bar.
Abstract:
A corner connector for a door having frames and stiles seating a panel therewithin includes a bracket providing a channel in which is a generally planar body portion and a door mounting member so as to slidably movable on the bracket in a direction generally parallel to the sidewalls of the bracket. The door mounting member has a body portion, an engaging portion extending outwardly of the channel for engagement with a door supporting surface, and a threaded fastener seated in the body portion which has a head bearing on an end wall of the bracket which has an aperture smaller than the head of the fastener. This provides access for a tool to engage the head of the fastener to adjust the spacing between the mounting member and the bracket end wall and thereby the distance which the engaging portion extends from the bracket. The fastener also transfers loads from the door mounting member to the bracket end wall.
Abstract:
The sliding device for a sliding panel comprises:a) a support which is shaped in or attached to the bottom portion of the panel, said support having a downwardly open upside-down U-shape;b) an oscillating arm secured to the support about a pivot axis which is horizontal and which extends transversely relative to the U-shape;c) sliding means fixed towards the free end of the oscillating arm;d) a pivoting cam which is secured to the support by a first axis of rotation and bears against the oscillating arm; ande) an adjustment screw which is fixed relative to the support and whose displacement serves to adjust the angle of rotation of the cam by means of a linkage between the cam and the adjustment screw. It may also include means for locking the oscillating arm in position relative to the support whenever the sliding means is in its high position within the support. The oscillating arm may include means for securing a cleaning pad suitable for bearing against the roller wheel and/or for extending in the form of a loop beneath the oscillating arm.
Abstract:
A multiple spring counterbalance includes a torsion spring and a tension spring for exerting a combined lifting force on a window sash. A spiral rod is threadably engaged with a follower nut for converting a torque applied by the torsion spring into a lifting force on the window sash. The spiral rod has a pitch that is varied along one part of its length to produce a substantially constant combined lifting force throughout most of a range of sash travel between a lowered position and an intermediate position. However, the pitch is further varied along another part of the length of the spiral member to produce a larger combined lifting force within a remaining portion of the range of sash travel from the intermediate position to the raised position.
Abstract:
A bearing device for sliding leaf of closures, such as doors or windows, having a slide inserted under the lower rail of the sliding leaf and provided with at least a bearing element freely rotatingly mounted onto a horizontal spindle. The slide of this bearing device has recesses capable of receiving elastically distortable elements to guide and support the spindle onto which is mounted the bearing element.
Abstract:
A door-closing hinge comprising an upper barrel with a wing secured to the door and an aligned lower barrel with a wing secured to the door frame. A bolt rotatable in the lower barrel has a non-circular upper end fitting in a non-circular opening in the upper barrel and a lower stem portion of smaller diameter which extends to the lower end of the lower barrel and has in its lower end a central conical depression engaged by a pivot pin in the lower end of the lower barrel. At the upper end of the lower barrel there is a ball bearing between a threaded collar screwed into the upper end of the lower barrel and a washer on the bolt. A sleeve surrounding the bolt has inner pins slidably received in helical grooves in the bolt and outer pins slidably received in longitudinal grooves in the inner surface of the lower barrel so that when the door is swung from closed position toward open position the sleeve is moved upwardly against the force of a spring which tends to return the door to closed position. The lower barrel is filled with oil which acts hydraulically to control the rate of closing.
Abstract:
There is described a roller assembly which is adapted to be snapped into and out of a channel of a sliding frame closure which device is used to adjust the effective height of the closure relative to an aperture frame in which it is installed. The roller assembly or device comprises an outer stationary frame member having a pair of correspondingly positioned canted slots formed therein and means provided on the outer frame member to permit frictional and mechanical engagement of the assembly within the channel of the sliding frame closure; an inner frame member adapted to be mounted within the outer frame member and having at least one roller wheel fixedly mounted therein for rotation about its axis; the inner frame member being mounted for vertical movement within the outer frame member by means of a transverse pin which extends through the canted slots of the outer frame member; the inner frame member being secured by adjustment means to the outer frame member such that on tightening of the adjustment means, the transverse pin secured through the inner frame member slides down the canted slot moving the roller wheel vertically downward and reverse movement occurs on loosening of the adjustment means. Also described is the combination of at least one of the roller assemblies and a sliding frame closure.
