    摘要: A drain valve has an inlet (36) for liquids and small solids, an accumulation chamber (37) and an outlet (17). The outlet has a seal (13) which is connected to an air-activated piston (12). The piston is in turn connected to a positive air pressure inlet (18) via an air communication path (19) and a closure (22). The closure (22) is opened by a closure activation means (29), causing positive air pressure to flow to the piston (12), which briefly causes the outlet seal (13) to be opened, allowing liquids and small solids from the accumulation chamber to be expelled. Upon de-activation by the closure activation means (29), the closure (22) recloses, blocking the supply of positive air pressure to the piston (12).

    摘要: Apparatus for protecting a fluid sensor against excess fluid pressure that includes a manifold having an internal fluid passage and a fluid inlet for connecting the passage to a fluid system. A piston is disposed within the passage adjacent to one end of the passage, and a rod extends from the piston through the passage. A valve is coupled to the rod at a position spaced from the piston, and is cooperable with the passage for selectively terminating fluid flow through the passage. A fluid sensor may be mounted on the manifold for communicating with fluid in the passage at an end thereof adjacent to the valve and remote from the piston. A spring resiliently engages the piston and urges the piston, rod and valve toward the end of the passage to open the valve. Fluid pressure at the inlet sufficient to overcome forces applied to the piston by the spring functions to close the valve and thereby to isolate the sensor from the fluid inlet.

    摘要: A fast opening plug valve especially for release of high pressure gas. The plug has an internal chamber and is held in the closed position by the pressure of gas within this chamber which acts on a fixed wall. The opening stroke is driven by valve inlet pressure upon release of gas from the plug chamber to a dump chamber. Flow from the plug chamber to the dump chamber is choked towards the end of the valve opening cycle to decelerate the plug. Plug acceleration at the start of the opening cycle is commenced prior to opening to minimize the opening period. Release of pressure from the plug chamber may be initiated by action of a slide valve and linked to rise of valve inlet pressure. The valve has application in wind tunnels.

    摘要: A compressed air-actuated valve means useful for attachment to devices used in chemical analysis wherein a piston actuates a suitably positioned slide member in the piston thrust direction. The slide member glides on a base member provided with spaced-apart holes that extend approximately perpendicular to the glide surface of the base member. The holes are connected to one another on the side of the base member facing the slide member via at least one appropriately arranged groove positioned in the slide facing the base member. Intake and discharge nozzles are connected with such holes on the opposite side of the base away from the slide member. The piston is a double-headed piston with each piston head being of a different diameter and each head being positioned at opposite ends of the slide member so that the slide member moves with the piston. The piston head with a smaller diameter is constantly biased with compressed air from a suitable compressed air source and the other piston head with the larger diameter is selectively biased with compressed air from the same source for controlling the slide movement.
