摘要:
A waveguide filter is provided having a plurality of asymmetrical corrugated resonators. The filter may also include an input section and an output section including a low-pass filter unit and a transformer unit. The low-pass filter unit includes a plurality of symmetrically corrugated slots, and the transformer unit includes at least one stepped transformer section for matching the filter to an external waveguide line. Each of the asymmetrically corrugated resonators may include a pair of opposed slots of different depth, a long slot and a short slot. The resonators provide at least one reflection zero and two transmission zeros to the frequency response of the filter, thus providing high-pass, band-pass and low-pass filter properties in a single filter structure.

A waveguide lowpass filter has successive groups of three separate ridges spaced longitudinally in said filter. A center ridge of each filter has a larger cross-sectional area than two side ridges which are the same size. All ridges are parallel to one another in a longitudinal direction. The groups are associated with shunt capacitances and the spaces between adjacent groups are associated with series inductances in an evanescent mode. In operation, the filter is capable of supporting a TE.sub.10 mode in the passband and three modes, TE.sub.10, TE.sub.20 and TE.sub.30 in the stopband. The filter has a relatively high power handling capability as compared to previous evanescent mode lowpass harmonic filters.

A low pass filter is provided for rectangular waveguide of the type employed for launching electromagnetic energy in microwave ovens. The filter substantially rejects the transmission of harmonic frequencies of the fundamental generator operating frequency as well as adjacent energy oscillation modes. The structure described has a corrugated configuration with ribs defining alternate cavities and constrictions have cutoff frequency characteristics. Uniform and nonuniform spacing as well as dissimilar sections are discussed. The structure is electrically isolated from the broad waveguide walls to define two propagation paths for the electromagnetic energy. Lightweight conductive materials are suggested. The interrelationships of the alternating rib members provide a series of open and short circuit admittances which are analyzed to determine the desired electrical cutoff frequencies. Identical rib structure is defined on opposing sides of a reference plane extending along the longitudinal axis of the waveguide. Transforming means are utilized for impedance matching.
