Abstract:
A method of controlling a mobile terminal, and which includes establishing a wireless communication connection with an external camera located at a near distance from the mobile terminal; receiving, by the mobile terminal and from the external camera, a preview picture generated by the external camera; displaying, on a display unit of the mobile terminal, the preview picture generated by the external camera; receiving an input on the mobile terminal for commanding the external camera to perform a predetermined camera function; and transmitting, by the mobile terminal, the input to the external camera for commanding the external camera to perform the predetermined camera function.
Abstract:
A terminal device usable in connection with an external display device is disclosed, which receives a plurality of sub-image data sets into which an original image data set has been divided, with each sub-image data set having a size within a display area size of the terminal device; converts an image format of the plurality of sub-image data sets into the same image-format as an image format of the external display device, on a per-sub-image-data-set basis; regenerates the original image data set from the plurality of format-converted sub-image data sets, such that the original image data set is formed in its entirety or in plural data blocks; and outputs the regenerated original-image-data-set to the external display device.
Abstract:
A network configuration file is generated at a host computer and downloaded to a digital camera. This file contains instruction information for communicating with a selected destination via a communications interface. The digital camera includes a “send” button or LCD icon which allows the user to easily transmit one or more images via a wired or wireless communications interface to a desired destination, which among other possibilities may be an Internet Service Provider or a digital photofinishing center. When the user selects this option, the communications port settings, user account specifics, and destination connection commands are read from the network configuration file on the removable memory card. Examples of these settings include serial port baud rate, parity, and stop bits, as well as account name and password.
Abstract:
An information processing system, such as a camera system, includes a radio communication system and an information appliance (such as a camera) communicable with the radio communication system within a predetermined distance. The information appliance includes an image pickup for obtaining image data by photographing a subject, a storing part for storing information peculiar to a user of the information appliance, a radio communication part for transmitting a predetermined radio signal and for reading information from the radio communication system, and an authorization part for authorizing the user by collating information from the radio communication system read at the radio communication part with stored information peculiar to the user. The radio communication system includes storage for storing predetermined information and a transmission part for receiving a radio signal generated at the information appliance and for transmitting the stored predetermined signal as a radio signal.
Abstract:
Digital camera includes an image sensor receiving incident light of a scene, the digital camera captures an image corresponding to the incident light; display displays the plurality of captured images and displays a menu of destinations; at least one user input for selection of at least one image from the plurality of captured images and a destination from the menu of destinations displayed on the display; communications interface transmits the at least one selected image to the selected destination over one of a plurality of networks, the plurality of networks including at least two different types of wireless networks; memory; and processor coupled to the image sensor, the display, the at least one user input, the communications interface, and the memory, the processor controlling the transmission of the at least one selected image to the selected destination using either one of the at least two different types of wireless networks.
Abstract:
An imaging apparatus capable of outputting a sensed image to a printing apparatus determines the type of PD printer apparatus connected via an interface, and selects the type of image data to be output to the PD printer apparatus on the basis of the determination result. The imaging apparatus directly transmits a JPEG code for a predetermined PD printer apparatus, or decodes and transmits the JPEG code for another printer apparatus.
Abstract:
A bifurcated interface for integrated use in a fax-to-email system provides an alternative or additional method for command entry a fax-to-email system preferably through a remote, commercially available, personal digital assistant or like device modified by software to perform the command entry functions. Delivery of commands, and other data, from the PDA is made, preferably, via infrared signals, but, alternatively, by direct cable syncing and other techniques. Thus, the interface is bifurcated having a portable traveler portion and a host portion in a more permanent connection with the fax function of the fax-to-email system. The PDA functions as the interface traveler portion, and becomes (at least temporarily) a specially programmed data entry tool with command communicating ability and a protocol shared by (or matched to) the interface host portion. The system can also be used in cooperation with Internet Web service for reporting, accounting, information services, and user interaction.
Abstract:
A system wherein already-existing computing and memory resources in an electronic camera are used to process an image for printing. Rather than duplicating, in printers, computing and memory resources that are already in digital cameras, significant computing and memory resources need exist only in the camera. A digital camera can support many different printers, each with its own set of parameters such as for example print size, pixel size, colorimetry, sensitometry, and artifacts compensation. Printer parameters are uploaded from the printer to the camera to provide a basis for image processing specific to the associated printer; whereby compensation may be done for variations in the printer characteristics which may occur as a result of printer manufacturing variations, and further so that compensation may be done for different media types which may be installed in the printer.
Abstract:
This is an information terminal device for receiving signals transmitted by a camera device. The device comprises information memory for storing information, a receiving unit for receiving a signal wirelessly transmitted by the camera device and a transmitting unit for attaching the information stored in the information memory to image data included in the signal received by the receiving unit and transmitting the image data with the information attached, to a prescribed address.
Abstract:
An electronic camera for capturing images that can be transferred to a service provider includes an image sensor for capturing a plurality of images of scenes and for producing image signals representative of the corresponding scenes; an analog-to-digital converter for digitizing the image signals to produce corresponding digital images; and a memory for storing a plurality of digital images. The electronic camera further includes a display coupled to the memory for displaying at least one digital image from the plurality of stored digital images; and a user interface for scrolling through the plurality of digital images stored in the memory in order to display and select a particular digital image to be transferred to the service provider and to select a user, wherein the selected user is provided permission to view the particular digital image when the particular digital image is transferred to the service provider.
