Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to achieve an image-pickup device which, when the user picks up an image of a subject using the image-pickup device, makes it possible to reduce a failure relating to framing techniques and image-pickup techniques. Guide information relating to framing techniques or image-pickup techniques is preliminarily stored in the image-pickup device, and during an image-pickup mode, guide information suitable for the subject is displayed for the user. The guide information includes sample images, GS, etc., and the user is allowed to carry out framing by reference to this displayed image at the time of picking up an image; thus, it becomes possible to reduce a failure in picking up an image.
Abstract:
This invention relates to the storage and search retrieval of all types of digital media files, whether allowing the user to create index keys, metatags within each media file(s), provides search and indexing capability. The search terms and index keys are based on contextual elements within the media, including meta data such as time, date and location, but including as well elements within the media itself, such as people or elements (car, animals, street, events, historical location and other) within a picture or a video, audio, voice, spoke word, instruments used in a musical work, or scenes in a movie. An authorized client can then retrieve the media from the remote location. Specific works can then be referenced by means of the generated search terms and index keys. When the user transmits these media files via e-mail, FTP, public server, or copies to a digital media or other distribution method, these index keys are contained within the media files, therefore allowing the third party to search and retrieve the media files based on metatags.
Abstract:
A computer-based video recording and management system is provided which is used in conjunction with medical diagnostic equipment. The system allows a physician or medical personnel to record and time-mark significant events during a medical procedure on video footage, to index patient data with the video footage, and then to later edit or access the video footage with patient data from a database in an efficient manner. The system includes at least one input device that inserts a time-mark into the video footage; and a workstation that associates an index with each time-mark, extracts a portion of the video footage at the time-mark beginning just before and ending just after the time-mark, concatenates the portion of the video footage with other portions of video footage, into a shortened summary video clip, and stores both the video footage and summary video clip into a searchable database.
Abstract:
A moving image recording apparatus is provided, which allows a user to enjoy reproducing a moving image by easily finding a corresponding desired scene from moving images. A moving image is recorded together with attribute information therefor. Division points at which the moving image breaks on a time base are detected, and the moving image is divided at the detected division points into scenes. The scenes into which the moving image is divided at the detected division points are joined to limit the number of scenes to not more than a predetermined value if the number of the scenes into which the moving image is divided exceeds the predetermined value. Still images are created from respective ones of the scenes the number of which has been limited, and the created still images are recorded as the attribute information.
Abstract:
A portable data storage device, e.g., a digital video camcorder (DVC), which stores environment setting data including time data and has an interface which enables a mutual data transmission with an external host computer. Video and audio data are transmitted and received between the DVC and the computer through the interface, and various control data for controlling the DVC and environment setting data are also transmittable from the computer to the DVC. Where the computer transmits the environment setting data to the DVC, the DVC stores the received data in a storage portion. Accordingly, without complicated manipulation of a plurality of keys on the DVC, a user easily inputs data related to the environment setting of the DVC from the computer. Where time data is provided to the DVC from a time standard, accurate current time according to the time standard is recorded on a magnetic tape during recording.
Abstract:
A display device for automatically classifying programs and the method thereof is disclosed. The present invention includes a display device for automatically classifying a program to be stored comprising a decoder for decoding transport streams of the program to be stored and retrieving a rating information of the program to be stored during the decoding, a storage for storing the program and the rating information of the program, and a controller for automatically storing the program according to the rating information. Also, a method for automatically classifying a program to be stored comprises decoding transport streams of the program to be stored, retrieving a rating information of the program to be stored during the decoding, and automatically storing the program according to the rating information.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an information processing device and method, a program recording medium, a program, and an imaging device which enable different processing to be set easily and flexibly for different contents to be managed. An entry i in a content management file includes a pointer to a content i, that is, information indicating the location of the content i recorded on a recording medium 2, attribute information including recording date and time, modification date and time, or protection information, a thumbnail image of the content i, text information, a reproduction starting script 81 which is activated, when reproduction of the content i is instructed in accordance with an input made by a user from an operation section, before reproduction of the content i is started, and a reproduction ending script 82 which is activated when the reproduction of the content i ends. The present invention can be applied to an imaging device which records image data of an imaged object on a recording medium.
Abstract:
An IR camera and a DV processing unit are disclosed which enable a user to use a standard DV recorder to record an IR film sequence and be able to play it back at a later time, and edit it, without using dedicated software. At the same time, the user has access to calibration data, enabling him the selection of data and processing of the film using dedicated software. This is achieved by including additional data related to the image processing in the signal, preferably in the part of the signal normally reserved for audio information.
Abstract:
A method of reproducing from a storage medium video data and graphics data for displaying a menu screen. The method includes: decoding graphics data; and outputting, on the basis of the decoded graphics data, the decoded graphics data when an activation command is generated by a user or displaying the decoded graphics data at a designated time.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a playback apparatus including a receiving unit for receiving entered instruction information for content to be played back; a storage unit for storing the instruction information received through the receiving unit; and a processing unit for reflecting a process corresponding to the instruction information stored in the storage unit on the content at predetermined timing depending on the playback state of the content.
