摘要： A hearing system comprises a shell having an open inner chamber. An input transducer and a transmitter assembly are disposed in the open inner chamber. The transmitter has a frequency response bandwidth in a 6 kHz to 20 kHz range, and the open chamber has an end adjacent a patient's tympanic membrane with one or more openings that allow the ambient sound to pass through the chamber and directly reach the middle ear of the user.

Features disclosed include sound level rating systems that aggregate noise data detected by user's mobile phones or hearing devices to provide a database of real-time noise levels. Additionally, a user's sound settings may be saved in the system by location so that they may be recalled when re-entering a specific location. A remote clinician may tune a hearing device, or a user can tune the device using a pre-recorded audio sample. Also, a user may replay the last X seconds of audio recorded by their hearing device.

摘要： A method of operating a hearing assistance system that includes a binaural hearing device with first and second earpieces, each earpiece adapted to be worn over, on or in one ear. Each earpiece has an electroacoustic transducer that converts an input electrical audio signal for the ear into sound, and at least one microphone that converts sound into an electrical microphone output signal. The hearing assistance system is adapted to process microphone output signals from both earpieces to create the electrical audio signals that are used to drive the transducers of both earpieces. A situation in which one of the earpieces is not over, on or in an ear is detected, and in response the processing of at least one of the microphone output signals that creates the audio signals is modified.

The first auditory unit and/or the second auditory unit are configured to process a related parameter value, received from the user, for a parameter. The processing of the related parameter value results in obtaining an aligned auditory perception between the first auditory perception and the second auditory perception.
