Abstract:
A synthetic resinous tear strip seal or toner cartridge used in electrostatic copy machines, in which the longitudinal central area of the strip is reinforced by laminating additional planar material thereto in the area overlying the elongated opening in the toner cartridge, and preferably along at least part of the tear strip. The material may be similar to that of the seal, or of other material selected for electrostatic conductivity to dissipate the electrostatic attraction of the seal material to the toner particles in the toner cartridge hopper. Typically, a thin coating of aluminum is applied to the material which is of a synthetic resin.
Abstract:
A decorated panel and a process for manufacturing a decorated panel are disclosed. The decorated panel comprises a multi-layered system of linking, printing and finishing films laminated on opposite sides of a structural core formed of a fiber layer impregnated with synthetic resin. The multi-layered system of plastic films allows the creation of new optical effects which include reproduction of the same color tones under different lighting conditions, pre-arranged superimposition of complementary images, double-sided printing, a combination of translucency and opacity, as well as other graphic possibilities. These panels are used for visual communication, advertising, signs, architecture and other applications.
Abstract:
A one-piece bowl of thermostructural composite material comprising fiber reinforcement densified by a matrix. The bowl is made by supplying deformable fiber in plies that are whole, being free from slots or cutouts, superposing said plies on a former of shape corresponding to the bowl to be made, deforming the plies, and bonding the superposed plies to one another by means of fibers extending transversely relative to the plies, e.g. by needling so as to obtain a bowl preform which is then densified. The bowl can be used as a support for a crucible in an installation for producing monocrystalline silicon.
Abstract:
A display support, designed to be printed, includes a coated fabric comprising a textile layer and two impregnation layers located on opposite surfaces of the textile layer. A coat of varnish, designed to be printed, is deposited on one of the impregnation layers. A pressure-sensitive adhesive layer capable of being repositioned, is deposited on the impregnation layer opposite the one receiving the coat of varnish. A protective layer arranged on the adhesive layer consists of a sheet with low adherence strength relative to the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer.
Abstract:
Improvements in color management for polypropylene fiber production in terms of permitting similar if not identical processing conditions for both colored and uncolored fiber production are provided. Generally, either separate polypropylene fiber manufacturing lines or different processing conditions on the same manufacturing line are required for the production of colored and non-colored polypropylene fibers. This coloring is, for example, done by using pigments that may have a nucleation effect on the PP polymer which affects fiber properties. Such an inefficient situation exists due to the physical properties of drawn polypropylene fibers during manufacture, particularly the different properties exhibited between fibers including color and fibers that are colorless. Thus, it has been determined that specific additives can permit substantially identical fiber processing conditions (such as temperature and draw ratios, as examples) for colored and non-colored polypropylene fibers, providing greater efficiency to the manufacturer when switching between such fiber types is elected and/or necessary.
Abstract:
To provide a fiberboard capable of reducing a load on the environment at all states of producing, using, and abolishing and moreover having a high degree of bending strength and a high bending-strength retention rate at high temperature and high humidity so as to be usable for an automobile interior material or building material and a fiber-board producing method. The fiberboard is formed by mixing natural fiber with polylactic acid resin serving as a binder and has an apparent density of 0.2 g/cm3.

Abstract:
Methods for making a single step sterilization wrapping material suitable for use, as an example, in wrapping surgical instruments and supplies for sterilization, transportation and storage, are provided. The material includes separate first and second wraps that provide improved strength attributes to the system. Separate wraps are provided that may be specially engineered to deliver selected properties for each sheet and then joined to one another to permit wrapping and opening in a neat single step process which increases efficiency and saves time and money. The sheets may be joined in a manner that increases the strength and/or tear resistance of the sterilization wrapping material.
Abstract:
The present invention provides improved electrostatic charge dissipating hard laminates by addition of a conductance-modifying component selected from inherently conductive polymers, conductive nanophase materials, or mixtures thereof, to a cellulose-based substrate and thermosetting polymer resin.
Abstract:
A composition of matter and method for inducing the rapid strengthening of damaged structures (e.g., buildings, bridges, dams, etc.) by reducing the application and curing times without the need to apply heat and pressure. The composition of matter comprises a strengthening fabric and a bonding agent which may be cured with ultraviolet light, such as sunlight, in less than about 30 min. The strengthening fabric comprises fibers chemically compatible with the bonding agent, and oriented to allow the bonding agent to quickly diffuse through the fabric.
