摘要: The present invention provides thickened fabrics and reinforcements for use as a spacer or reinforcement for a matrix system. The fabric includes in a first embodiment a woven fabric comprising weft and warp yarns containing glass fibers. A portion of the weft yarns are undulated into a sinusoidal path forming a generally “C” shaped bridge between adjacent warp yarns which results in an increased thickness for the fabric. The fabric is coated with a polymeric resin or bonding agent, for substantially binding the weft yarns in the undulated condition. This invention also includes methods for making such fabric by increasing the thickness of a woven or non-woven material by such methods as applying tension to warp yarns having opposite twists during weaving operations, or using unbalanced yarns, for example.

摘要: A roofing underlayment comprises a reinforcing layer, which is extrusion coated on at least one side with an anti-slip coating layer. The reinforcing layer comprises a woven polyethylene or polypropylene scrim. The anti-slip coating layer comprises a compound based on a styrene and ethylene/butylene-styrene, S-E/B-S, block copolymer, such as the compound sold under the trademark KRATON® MD6649. The anti-slip coating layer may also be embossed. The anti-slip coating layer is low in cost and helps prevent water from penetrating the primary roofing material. In addition, the anti-slip coating layer provides an improved anti-skid surface upon which an individual may safely walk. Embossment improves the wet slip resistance of the roofing underlayment.

摘要: A roofing underlayment having a slip-resistant surface includes a woven polypropylene scrim laminated to a top layer made from a non-woven spun-bond polypropylene fabric. During lamination, the scrim is bonded to the top layer by a polypropylene coating that impregnates the scrim, thereby forming a structural bottom layer comprising the polypropylene-impregnated scrim. The non-woven fibers of the top layer provide a micro-textured, slip-resistant surface. A second polypropylene coating may be applied to the bottom surface of the bottom structural layer. An adhesive layer may optionally be applied either to the bottom surface of the bottom structural layer, or, if used, to the bottom surface of the second polypropylene coating.

摘要: The invented product is a fleecebacked laminate that is suitable as a single-ply fleecebacked roofing membrane. The laminate consists of the following: 1) a thermoplastic reinforced planar sheet, 2) a needle punched fleece formed on both sides of the thermoplastic reinforced planar sheet, and 3) a thermoplastic polymeric layer extruded onto one side of the fleece. The fleece is formed by needle punching fibers through the reinforced planar sheet. The reinforced planar sheet serves as a common supporting base the resulting two-side fleece. The thermoplastic polymeric layer is embedded with one side of the fleece fibers. The thermoplastic polymeric layer serves as the top layer of the roofing membrane, and the second side of exposed fleece serves as a felt. The thermoplastic polymeric layer is preferably comprised of an extruded PVC substrate, compounded to have excellent weather resistance, printability and to be nonflammable. The fleece fibers are preferably composed of polyester. The thermoplastic reinforced planar sheet is preferably a scrim that is extrusion coated with a thermoplastic substrate that is compounded to have excellent weather resistance, and to be nonflammable.
