摘要: An improved rotary endodontic file includes a multi-planar pre-curved apical portion having a first and a second curvature. The pre-curved apical portion begins at about one-third to one-quarter of the working length as measured from the tip end of the endodontic instrument. The first and second curvature permit the file to continually search and engage the walls of a tooth root canal in a forced inside-forced outside manner. As the file works its way down, it breaks free of any ledges encountered, probes lateral- and delta-type openings, and does not allow the file to stray from the curvature of the canal.

摘要: Process for the preparation of a particulate dental filler composition, comprising the following steps: (a) introducing a mixture containing (al) a silica precursor component, and (a2) a solution or dispersion of one or more compounds selected from compounds of aluminum, zinc, titanium, zirconium, tungsten, ytterbium, hafnium, bismuth, barium, strontium, silver, tantalum, lanthanum, tin, boron, and cerium, into a pulsed reactor; (b) converting the silica precursor component and the compounds into a particulate mixed oxide with a pulsed gas flow resulting from flameless combustion; (c) isolating the particulate mixed oxide from the pulsed reactor; (d) optionally subjecting the particulate mixed oxide to a heat treatment step; and (e) treating the optionally heat-treated particulate mixed oxide with a silane treatment agent for obtaining a particulate dental filler composition.

摘要: A process for producing a water-soluble, hydrolysis-stable, polymerizable polymer, comprising a) a step of copolymerizing a mixture comprising (i) a first copolymerizable monomer comprising at least one optionally protected carboxylic acid group and a first polymerizable organic moiety, and (ii) a second copolymerizable monomer comprising one or more optionally protected primary and/or secondary amino groups and a second polymerizable organic moiety, for obtaining an amino group containing copolymer; b) a step of coupling to the amino group containing copolymer a compound having a polymerizable moiety and a functional group reactive with an amino group of repeating units derived from the second copolymerizable monomer in the amino group containing copolymer obtained in the first step wherein the optionally protected amino group is deprotected, so that polymerizable pendant groups are linked to the backbone by hydrolysis-stable linking groups, and, optionally, a step of deprotecting the protected carboxylic acid group after step (a) or step (b), for obtaining a polymerizable polymer.

摘要: Described is an MRI machine for measuring a head area of a patient, comprising at least one primary magnetic field unit, at least one gradient coil assembly, a closed patient opening, at least one excitation coil and at least one receiver coil. In a first region, a closed patient opening of the MRI machine comprises a first inner diameter perpendicular to a center axis of the MRI machine and, in the second region, a second inner diameter, which is arranged parallel to the first inner diameter. The first inner diameter is smaller than the second inner diameter, wherein the first region at least partially comprises the head area of the patient, wherein the second region at least partially comprises a torso area of the patient. The MRI machine is arranged obliquely, wherein, in a z-direction relative to a direction of the gravitational force, the center axis of the MRI machine comprises an angle between 20° and 75°.
