    摘要: Picture pickup device comprising a television camera tube having an electron gun, and a photo-sensitive target in an evacuated envelope. An electron beam generated by the electron gun is focused by focusing means onto the target. The electron beam is deflected by deflection means and describes a line raster across the target. The electron beam forms an elongated spot on the target. The longitudinal axis of the spot is perpendicular to the lines of the raster and has a length which is substantially equal to the line spacing. The elongated spot is obtained with the aid of an adjustable multipolar stigmator which, viewed in the direction of propagation of the electron beam, is provided in front of the focusing and deflection means, coaxially around the axis of the envelope and the electron gun. The shape of the spot can be adjusted in an optimum manner so that stern waves are completely suppressed. It is possible to provide the stigmator in or around the tube and to adjust it by magnetization, if required, through the wall of the envelope.

The two switching transistors have a zone in common and the capacitance (S.sub.s) is exclusively constituted by the parasitic capacitance of the zone (17).     摘要: A transistor output stage including an output transistor having its base coupled to the emitter of a driver transistor is driven into saturation by a current source which is connected to the base of the driver transistor. When a small output current is flowing through the load connected to the collector of the output transistor, the surplus of the current from the current source is drained from the base of the driver transistor to the collector of the output transistor via the collector-emitter path of a limiting transistor having its base connected to the base of the output transistor. This reduces the power dissipation in the driver transistor and improves the power efficiency of the transistor output stage.

    摘要: An infra-red radiation detector has a pyroelectric element (10), comprising for example TGS material, supported in spaced relationship over a heatsink body (16) for stabilizing the temperature of the element in operation with the space between opposing faces of the element (10) and body (16) containing a thermally-conductive, non-hardening and non-gaseous gel-like medium (22) such as silicon dielectric gel which thermally couples the element with the body. A small quantity of material such as solder or epoxy may be used to bond the element to the body and fix the spacing therebetween or, alternatively, the element may be supported over and bonded to the body simply by means of the medium (22) itself. Capillary action may conveniently be used to introduce the medium into the space between the element and the body.

    摘要: In a predictive encoding circuit the transmission of prediction errors to the predictive decoding circuit is selectively suppressed and prediction errors having a predetermined value are applied to the prediction circuit in both the encoding circuit and in the decoding circuit, instead of the non-transmitted prediction errors. In order to determine which prediction errors are not transmitted, a masking function value is determined for an actual pixel in the encoding circuit. This is a linear combination of weighted difference between two pixel values of a predetermined cluster of pixels located in the vicinity of the actual pixel. The actual prediction error is not transmitted only if, for example this masking function value is within a certain range and the previous prediction error has been transmitted. In the decoding circuit the masking function values are determined, starting from the regained local pixel values.

    摘要: In DFB/DBR semiconductor diode lasers, competition may arise between the DFB (Distributed Feed-Back) mode corresponding to the period of the grid present and the FP (=Fabry-Perot) mode determined by the relative distance of the mirror surfaces, as a result of which the laser does not operate in one single mode. By providing an antireflex layer, this problem is suppressed, but other disadvantages are obtained, such as a large line width. However, by providing a phase layer on the antireflection coating, the operation of the laser in a single mode is combined with a comparatively narrow line width. Furthermore, a reflective coating can be applied to the phase layer. In this case, both the module and the phase of the effective reflection can be adjusted substantially independently of each other, as a result of which a narrow line width and SLM can be more readily combined.The antireflex coating, the phase layer and the reflective coating can be manufactured by means of not more than two materials having a suitable refractive index. Two particularly suitable materials are hafnium oxide and silicon dioxide, which can be applied to the mirror surfaces by means of the comparatively simple and attractive vapor deposition technique.

Two axially extending centering surfaces are provided which enable aligning the connection end of the LWG in a guide groove of the connector.
