In one embodiment, a braking pattern is applied to both composite brake/turn signals when the vehicle is braking only. When the vehicle is braking and turning simultaneously, a turn signal pattern is applied to one of the composite brake/turn lights and the other composite brake/turn light is turned on without modulation.
