Abstract: In some examples, a fluid-ejection device can include a fluidic tube to fluidically connect to a fluid supply, a carriage having a fluidic interconnector fluidically connectable to the fluidic tube and movable between a first position and a second position, a receiver to receive an air purger, wherein the air purger, when present, is coupled to the receiver and fluidically connectable to the fluidic interconnector, and a controller to cause the carriage to actuate from the first position to the second position, determine a location of the carriage at the second position, and based on the location of the carriage at the second position, detect a status of the air purger, a status of an engageable lock in the air purger, or both.

Abstract: A microfluidic device is described. The device comprises a reaction chamber, wherein the reaction chamber comprises at least one reaction reagent disposed on at least one inner surface of the reaction chamber. A heater is also provided. A thermally dissolvable or degradable or thermally degradable film is applied to the at least one inner surface of the reaction chamber on which the reaction reagent is disposed. Also described is a PCR apparatus and a method of performing PCR.

Abstract: An example device may comprise a molded structure and a dependent device coupled to the molded structure. The molded structure comprises thermo-electric traces and channels. The channels are between ten μm and two hundred μm, or less in one dimension. The dependent device comprises apertures corresponding to the channels and through which fluids, electromagnetic radiation, or a combination thereof is to travel. The dependent device also comprises contacts corresponding to the thermo-electric traces of the molded structure.

Abstract: A print apparatus is disclosed. The print apparatus includes a photoconductive surface to receive a latent image representative of an image to be printed onto a printable substrate; a charging component to apply a voltage is to be applied to the photoconductive surface as the charging component moves relative to the photoconductive surface; and processing circuitry to receive data indicative of a measurement of a first current resulting from the voltage applied by the charging component; determine, responsive to detecting an increase in the measured first current relative to a reference current, the increase being greater than a first defined threshold current, that there exists a point defect under affecting the latent image; and generate instruction data responsive to determining that there exists a point defect under affecting the latent image. A method and a machine-readable medium are also disclosed.

Abstract: Digital user authentication processes can use both dynamic information presented on a user device associated with an individual as well as a biometric associated with the individual to evaluate an authentication attempt for the individual. The dynamic information can include information such as QR codes, pin numbers, cryptographic keys, colors, and other types of information. The biometric associated with the individual can include facial recognition data, fingerprint data, and other types of biometric data. The digital authentication processes can provide enhanced security features that are both less vulnerable to manipulation and more efficient for users.
