    摘要: The present invention relates to cables made of twisted conductor pairs. More specifically, the present invention relates to twisted pair communication cables for high-speed data communications applications. A twisted pair including at least two conductors extends along a generally longitudinal axis, with an insulation surrounding each of the conductors. The conductors are twisted generally longitudinally along the axis. A cable includes at least two twisted pairs and a filler. At least two of the cables are positioned along generally parallel axes for at least a predefined distance. The cables are configured to efficiently and accurately propagate high-speed data signals by, among other functions, limiting at least a subset of the following: impedance deviations, signal attenuation, and alien crosstalk along the predefined distance.

    摘要: A system is provided for hydrogen production from a hydrogen and carbon containing fuel combusted within an oxyfuel combustor. The oxyfuel combustor combusts hydrogen and carbon containing fuel with oxygen at a non-stoichiometric ratio, typically fuel rich. In such an operating mode, products of combustion include steam, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and hydrogen. These products of combustion are then passed through a hydrogen separator where hydrogen is separated. Remaining products of combustion can be optionally combusted at a stoichiometric ratio with oxygen in a second oxyfuel combustor discharging substantially only steam and carbon dioxide. A turbine can be provided downstream from the gas generator to produce power and eliminate carbon monoxide from the system. The system can be operated in a second mode where the gas generator combusts the fuel with oxygen at a stoichiometric ratio to maximize electric power generation without hydrogen production at periods of peak electric power demand.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for splicing programs in the MPEG domain, wherein program data is carried in MPEG transport streams (TS) of data packets. The data packets carry application data, e.g. video and audio data, and a header provided with control data. According to the invention control data objects are established for each data packet for storing time references and data packet status information. The control data objects are queued in different queues dependent on the data packet status or on the status of a group of data packets. Control data objects associated to data packets to be output in an output stream of data packets are selected from the queues, whereupon selected control objects are assembled to a program of associated data packets of different kinds of data. Finally, data packets associated to said selected and assembled control data objects are assembled to an output stream of data packets.

    摘要: A hearing aid assembly having a directional microphone mounted externally to a hearing aid body is disclosed. The hearing aid, which may be, for example, an in-the-canal (ITC) or completely-in-the-canal (CIC) hearing aid, has a mounting arm attached to an external surface of the hearing aid body, and the mounting arm in turn has a directional microphone mounted therewith. The mounting arm provides mechanical and electrical connection between the directional microphone and the hearing aid. The mounting arm is also configured such that, upon insertion of the ITC or CIC hearing aid into the ear canal of a wearer, the microphone is located in the region above the tragion portion of the ear.

    摘要: A petri dish for the culturing of microorganisms includes a rectangular dish having a floor plate and an endless peripheral dish wall which extends upwardly therefrom, and a two-position lid. The lid includes a ceiling plate, an endless outer peripheral lid wall extending downwardly therefrom, and an endless groove generally adjacent to the outer peripheral lid wall, which corresponds in shape to an upward end of the dish wall. When the lid is oriented in a first position entirely overlying the dish, the upward end of the dish wall is prevented from being fully inserted into the groove so that gas flow is permitted between the lid and the dish. When the lid is turned 180 degrees and placed in a second position entirely overlying the dish, the upward end of the dish wall extends into the groove. This has the effect of severely restricting or preventing gas flow between the lid and the dish. Beads and flanges are integrally molded onto exterior surfaces of the lid and dish to facilitate the stacking of petri dishes one atop another, and handling of the components.
