Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards a cellular network area optimizer. The area optimizer observes cellular network conditions at multiple radio access network (RAN) nodes within a target area. Based on observed conditions, the area optimizer applies a set of parameter values at the multiple RAN nodes. The set of parameter values enhances the overall throughput, while maintaining or improving connection retainability and accessibility, of the multiple RAN nodes under the observed conditions. The area optimizer learns different sets of parameter values to apply in response to different observed conditions by making parameter value adjustments and observing the effect of the adjustments on overall throughput of the RAN nodes in the target area.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards load balancing baseband units in a communications network. A baseband physical layer 1 unit's functions are disaggregated into Layer 1 (L1) distributed units and radio units, instead of deploying full-fledged baseband units at a service′ provider's service areas (cells). A load balancer scales up the number of active distributed units based on increased actual demand, and scales down the active distributed units based on decreased demand. The L1 distributed units and radio units can be software-defined network functions, and need not be collocated, whereby the distributed units can be in the cloud or hub remotely located relative to the radio units deployed at the service areas. Examples of load balancing can be load balancing of transmitted data per carrier, per subcarrier, per user equipment, per transmission time interval (TTI/slot), per bearer, or per channel.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for providing streaming video from mobile computing nodes. A request for streaming video captured by a mobile computing node can be received at a computer including a processor that executes a controller. The request can include a parameter associated with the streaming video. The computer can initiate transmission of an inquiry message to two or more mobile computing nodes and receive inquiry message responses from the mobile computing nodes that include the mobile computing node. The inquiry message responses can indicate that the mobile computing nodes can satisfy the parameter. The computer can create a list of the mobile computing nodes that can satisfy the parameter and provide the list to the requestor. The computer can receive a selection of the mobile computing node, and initiate delivery of a video stream to the requestor.

Abstract: A system for managing clouds of edge devices as an Infrastructure as a Service clouds includes an application server, a location based situational awareness subsystem and a cloud management subsystem. The cloud management subsystem includes a first API through which the application server makes request to the location based situational awareness subsystem and a conductor that searches for the optimal deployment of cloud resources that meet a set of constraints. A second API for managing and deploying applications on a selected set of the plurality of network connected devices. The system also includes a compute node that can interact with the selected set of the plurality of network connected devices to launch and manage containers on the selected set of the plurality of network connected devices.

Abstract: Devices, computer-readable media, and methods for submitting a modified voice input to a service based upon a user intent determined from a voice input in accordance with a voice interface of the service are disclosed. A processing system including at least one processor may obtain a voice input of a user, determine an intent from the voice input, identify a first service, from among a plurality of services, in accordance with the intent, and formulate a first modified voice input from the voice input in accordance with a voice interface of the first service, where each of the services is associated with one of a plurality of different voice interfaces. The processing system may further submit the first modified voice input to the first service, obtain a first voice response from the first service, and present a voice output to the user in accordance with the first voice response.

The first instance of the middleware module may be configured to receive a request from a first client to perform a transaction relating to a range of keys, confirm an ownership of the first client of the range of keys, execute operations of the transaction over the first instance of the database, and write a first entry to a first instance of an entry consistent store, the first entry recording a change of at least a value in the database resulting from executing the operations of the transaction.
