摘要: In an image forming apparatus using an electro-photographic process, using a plurality of colors of toner including black toner, a reflectance of a base medium on which a toner image is formed is higher than that of black toner itself and lower than that of color toner. A toner deposit amount sensor provided in the image forming apparatus has a light-receiving element provided in the regular reflection direction from a toner image on the base medium. The light-receiving element has a wide light-receiving area so as to receive at least a part of irregularly reflected light besides regularly reflected light. The light-receiving element is then stored in a container for preventing the element from being contaminated by scattered toner, except the time of toner deposit amount measurement. Measurement characteristics of the toner amount sensor are corrected when being stored in the container by using a correction plate provided in the container. Furthermore, the deposit amount of each color of toner is controlled by relations between image forming control parameters and the deposit amount of each color of toner is controlled by relations between image forming control parameters and the deposit amount of each one of the plurality of colors of toner and black toner, the relations being memorized in advance.

摘要: An optical recording system is disclosed in which input pixels are recorded by controlling the quantity of light as a medium based on the input pixels. The information on the pixels surrounding at least given one of the input pixels is compared with predetermined pattern information, and the particular pixel is accordingly subdivided into a plurality of regions for each of which the light quantity is controlled. Specifically, an optical recording system includes a recognition device for recognizing at least one feature of the desired image by comparing pixel information constituting a predetermined pattern with other pixel information making up a recording target and at least a given one of the pixels with surrounding pixels, and a device for determining the light quantity in a predetermined manner in accordance with the feature. The system further includes a light quantity control device including an exposure pattern signal storage having stored therein a set of rules for controlling the light quantity of a given one of the input pixels in accordance with the information on the surrounding pixels.

摘要: A flat cable connector for terminating respective individual conductors of first and second flat cables stacked in overlapping relationship one above the other has a cable connecting face which is stepped to provide lower and upper for corresponding termination zones and a first and second series of terminals anchored in the housing and having pressure connecting portions protruding into such zones for connection to the first and second flat cables, respectively, with conductor connecting portions of some of the terminals of the second series upstanding, unsupported, from the lower level. A first cable engaging cover member is formed with guide surfaces providing guiding engagement with unsupported lengths of the second series of conductor connecting portions during termination movement, obviating risk of damage and deformation thereof. The step may be a separately formed insert mounted on the housing prior to termination, thereby simplifying manufacture and assembly of terminals in the housing.

摘要: This invention provides a magnetic disk which can satisfactorily suppress the elution of internal components from an end face of a magnetic disk, and corrosion damage. The magnetic disk comprises a disk substrate, and a thin film including a magnetic layer, a carbon-based protective layer, and a lubricating layer provided in that order on the disk substrate. The main surface and the end face of the magnetic disk are covered with the carbonaceous protective layer. The carbon-based protective layer contains nitrogen at a part adjacent to the lubricating layer. The content of nitrogen atoms relative to the content of carbon atoms in the protective layer formed on the end face is equal to or more than the content of nitrogen atoms relative to the content of carbon atoms in the protective layer formed on the main surface.
