    摘要： A medical apparatus and method of use for implanting a percutaneous catheter in a patient's body which catheter can be easily positioned, repositioned, and replaced. The apparatus includes an elongate sleeve comprising a wall surrounding an interior elongate passageway. The passageway extends from a sleeve proximal end to a sleeve distal end. The sleeve is intended to be percutaneously implanted through an incision in the patient's skin so that the sleeve distal end resides subcutaneously. The sleeve outer peripheral surface carries a layer of porous material intended to be placed just under the patient's outer skin layer in contact with the dermis to promote tissue ingrowth for anchoring the sleeve and forming an infection resistant barrier. The sleeve passageway is dimensioned to snugly accommodate the outer surface of catheter while permitting the catheter to slide relative to the sleeve. A sealing device is mounted around the catheter adjacent to the sleeve proximal end to prevent deleterious material from migrating into the patient's body along the catheter outer surface.

    摘要： A puncture seal device for stemming the flow of blood from a punctured blood vessel has an elongated outer sheath affixed to a generally tubular housing where the housing contains a manually actuable slide which is affixed to a rigid tubular pusher member coaxially disposed within the outer sheath. Also contained within the outer sheath in longitudinal alignment with the pusher and distally thereof is a ring-shaped plug of a hemostatic material. The assembly thus far described may be fitted over a tubular introducer or the body of a catheter and then advanced therealong until the distal end of the outer sheath is proximate a bleeding blood vessel. By actuating the pusher member, the hemostatic plug surrounding the introducer or catheter is ejected from the distal end of the outer sheath and held in abutting relationship to the bleeding blood vessel.

    摘要： An improved oxygen mask, particularly useful for treating patients requiring inhalation therapy, wherein the extent of oxygen dilution with room air may be selectively controlled to provide different predetermined oxygen concentrations. The diluter is interposed in the line between the inlet hose of the mask and the oxygen supply tube and essentially comprises two closely-fitting parts: a tapered tubular body which houses an integral ejector nozzle, and a tapered tubular sleeve which is fitted upon the body for rotational movement into any of a plurality of selected positions but is securely locked against axial movement upon that body. The parts have apertures which are moved into or out of alignment as the sleeve is rotated into different angular positions of adjustment. An aerosol adapter may be removably mounted upon a projecting end portion of the body for directing vapors towards the inlet apertures of the diluter.
