摘要: A dual guidewire exchange catheter system and methods are provided herein. The dual guidewire exchange catheter system includes two lumens for receiving therethrough a main vessel guidewire and a branch vessel guidewire, respectively. The catheter includes an exit port for each guidewire, at least one of which is a shorter distance from the distal end of the catheter system than the distance from the distal end to the proximal end of the catheter. This allows for management of relatively short guidewire lengths outside the body.

摘要: A guide catheter includes a tubular section formed of a shape memory polymer that can transform dynamically between first and second states or conditions, or among three states or conditions, to provide a wide range of properties of the guide catheter as desired during delivery of the guide catheter through the vasculature to a target site, and removal of the guide catheter from the target site and vasculature. The states or conditions of the shape memory polymer be dynamically changed to vary properties of the tubular section such as stiffness, flexibility, shape, or biodegradability, which can be controlled by exposure of the shape memory polymer to temperature changes, electric fields, magnetic fields, wavelengths of light, and chemical solutions.

摘要: Hand-held apparatus for clipping hair including a self-contained vacuum source for collection of hair clippings. The apparatus comprises a housing. An airway extends within the housing from an inlet to an exhaust. A vacuum source is disposed in the airway intermediate the inlet and the exhaust and operates to draw air into the housing through said inlet. A cutting assembly comprising at least one cutting blade is disposed exterior of the airway in spaced relationship with the housing inlet such that hair clippings produced by the cutting assembly are drawn through the housing inlet into the airway. A filter member is disposed in the airway between the inlet and the vacuum source to inhibit hair clippings that have been drawn into the airway from flowing to the vacuum source. Various metrics are disclosed that can be used individually or in combination to improve performance of the apparatus.

摘要: A material transfer system for storing, transferring and dispensing viscous material, such as fluids and liquids, includes a material containment vessel with an upper region incorporating a motive force and a bottom region with a material ingress and egress opening. A diconical or other shaped force transfer device is located in the material containment area. The force transfer device is an energy transducer when the material containment is filled with highly viscous materials, such as adhesives, sealants, mastics or lubricating greases. The force transfer device serves as an integral part of a level indicator for both viscous fluids and lower viscosity liquids. The viscous material itself forms a seal between the interface region of the force transfer device and the inside wall of the fluid vessel. Vertical stabilizing elements may extend outward from the force transfer device.
