Abstract: A display apparatus includes: a display face; a display function layer adapted to vary display on the display face in response to an inputted image signal; a plurality of driving electrodes disposed separately in one direction; a detection scanning control section configured to apply a detection driving voltage to some of the plural driving electrodes and carry out detection driving scanning while shifting an application object of the detection driving voltage in the one direction on the display face and then control the detection driving scanning such that jump shift of carrying out shift with a pitch of twice or more times a driving electrode pitch is included; and a plurality of sensor lines disposed separately in a direction different from the one direction and responding to touch or proximity of a detection object with or to the display face to exhibit an electric variation.

Abstract: A common electrode for a display, which is originally provided in a liquid crystal display element, is also used as one (drive electrode) of a pair of electrodes for a touch sensor, and the other (detection-electrode-for-the-sensor) of the pair of electrodes is newly formed. An existing common drive signal as a drive signal for display is used in common for a drive signal for the touch sensor. A capacitance is formed between the common electrode and the detection-electrode-for-the-sensor, and touch detection is performed by utilizing a change of this capacitance caused by a finger touch of a user. Thus, a display device with a touch sensor is also applicable to a mobile device in which electric potential of the user is inconstant in many cases. The newly-provided electrode is only the detection-electrode-for-the-sensor, and it is unnecessary to newly prepare a drive signal for the touch sensor.

Abstract: A display device with a touch detection function includes a control device that performs, in normal operation mode, image display control so as to exhibit an image display function of a display function layer based on an image signal and performs touch detection control; a touch detecting unit that detects, in the normal operation mode, a position of an object in proximity to or in contact with the touch detection electrode based on a detection signal transmitted from the touch detection electrode; and a touch-detection controller that detects, in sleep mode, the proximity of the object to or the contact thereof with the touch detection electrode. When the touch-detection controller detects the proximity of the object to or the contact thereof with the touch detection electrode in the sleep mode, the control device controls a pixel electrode to a predetermined potential, and thereafter supplies a touch drive signal to a drive electrode.

Abstract: An information input device including a touch panel configured to be provided with a touch sensor that detects a position at which a sensing object is brought close to a sensing surface. In this information input device, the touch sensor has a scanning electrode and a detecting electrode that is opposed to the scanning electrode with the intermediary of a dielectric substance, and is a capacitive sensor whose electrostatic capacitance changes if the sensing object is brought close to the detecting electrode. Furthermore, a slit is formed in a surface of the detecting electrode opposed to the scanning electrode.

Abstract: To provide a liquid crystal display device with a touch detection function in which any drive method can be adopted. The liquid crystal display device is provided with: a liquid crystal element arrangement that has a plurality of liquid crystal display elements arranged in a matrix shape; a plurality of scanning lines that are arranged in each row of the liquid crystal element arrangement, and supply scanning signals to a plurality of liquid crystal display elements arranged in a corresponding row; a plurality of signal lines that are arranged in each column of the liquid crystal element arrangement, and supply an image signal to a plurality of liquid crystal display elements arranged in a corresponding column; a plurality of touch detection drive electrodes which are arranged in a column of the liquid crystal element arrangement, and to which a drive signal for detecting a touch is supplied; and a touch control part that specifies a touch detection drive electrode from the a plurality of touch detection drive electrodes. Here, the drive signal is supplied to the touch detection drive electrode specified by the touch control part.
