摘要: A digital image capture device for use in capturing underwater digital images, comprising a watertight housing; an image sensor for capturing a digital image; an optical system for imaging a scene onto the image sensor; a means for sensing a pressure outside the watertight housing; and a processor. The processor performs the steps of determining a sensed pressure; capturing a digital image of a scene using the image sensor; using the sensed pressure to determine an indication of whether the digital image capture device is being operated underwater and selecting an underwater photography mode or a normal photography mode accordingly; processing the captured digital image according to the selected photography mode; and storing the processed digital image in a processor accessible memory.

摘要: When producing an image in an optical scanning device, such as an optical scanning device employing pulse width modulation, for example, edges are reproduced by illuminating, within a pixel through which an edge passes, an off-centered location towards the lighter illumination side of the edge. Such a technique reproduces an edge with reduced jagging and with accurate color as compared to conventional displays.

摘要: Methods are provided for determining an operating parameter for an image system. Evaluation images are obtained during composition of an archival image and the evaluation images are stored. The evaluation images are compared to determine common image elements and an area of importance is determined based at least in part upon some of the common image elements. An operating parameter is determined based upon analysis of the area of importance. Imaging systems that perform the methods are also provided.

摘要: In a method for producing output from an image record, the type of input unit supplying the image record is determined. The image record is classified into one of a predetermined plurality of different edit statuses. The classifying utilizes as input the determined type of input unit. The edit statuses are inclusive of unedited status and very-edited status. The image record is digitally enhanced. During the enhancing material alteration of the image record is constrained. The enhancing is more constrained when the edit status is very-edited and less when the edit status is other than very-edited. The image record is rendered to match a predetermined output unit. The resulting image record is output in viewable form.

摘要: A photographic print copying station includes a scanner for scanning a photographic print. A mask is placed over the photographic print to indicate an area of the print for copying and an operator control is provided on the copying station for selecting a desired copy size. The copying station includes a logic and control circuit that responds to the signal produced by the scanner to recognize the mask area, separates the image area from the mask area, and resizes the image area to the selected copy size. The resized image is then printed by a printer in the copying station.

摘要: In a film video system, a repositionable imaging solid state sensor is used to generate electric signals in reponse to a photographic image for display on a video monitor. The repositionable sensor is aligned with the photographic image by locating a fixed mask between a source for illuminating the image and the sensor. Corner pixels of the sensor are identified, and the sensor is moved relative to the mask. When at least one of these corner pixels transition between a light and dark state during movement of the sensor, it is indicative of the presence of an edge of the mask. By moving the sensor and calculating the distance between edges of the mask, the sensor may be aligned with the mask. Since the mask is aligned with the photographic image, the sensor is aligned with the photographic image.
