Abstract:
A method for secure distribution of data in an interchange network, comprises having a network in which data records stored on at least one computer; and including an authorization service, where the authorization service grants a contractor access to at least a portion of the data records; and a watermarking module that adds one or more artificial records to said portion. The artificial records cannot be distinguished from the data records by the contractor and are valid for processing in the same way as the data records.
Abstract:
A method and system for caching data such as audio, video and/or other data uses information including future access request information for improved caching performance. According to an exemplary embodiment, a cache system includes a cache operative to cache a plurality of data items. A processor is operative to enable at least one of the data items in the cache to be replaced using future access request information for the at least one data item.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are described for gaining access to a communication medium in a contention-based network, including determining a slot count based on a number of stations in the contention-based network, adjusting the slot count, initiating a frame transmission when the slot count reaches a predetermined value and wherein said number of stations and an address queue are adjusted to reflect one of a priority and traffic patterns. Further, a method and apparatus are described for gaining access to a communication medium in a contention-based network, including receiving a slot count based on a number of stations in the contention-based network, adjusting the slot count, initiating a frame transmission when the slot count reaches a predetermined value and wherein said number of stations and an address queue are adjusted to reflect a priority.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and compositions relating to CD200 and its receptor, CD200R which modulate bone mass via the differentiation of osteoclasts.
Abstract:
Methods and computer readable mediums storing computer executable programs for managing multimodal annotations of an image are disclosed. A first communication channel is established between a first machine and a mobile device. A first hierarchical data structure generated by the mobile device is received at the first machine. The first hierarchical data structure includes an image annotated with at least one multimodal annotation. A representation of the first hierarchical data structure is rendered at the first machine. At least one multimodal annotation modification associated with the image is received at the first machine. The at least one multimodal annotation modification is incorporated into the first hierarchical data structure thereby generating a second hierarchical data structure.
Abstract:
The present invention provides methods for diagnosing mental disorders (e.g., psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia and mood disorders such as major depression disorder and bipolar disorder). The invention also provides methods of identifying modulators of such mental disorders as well as methods of using these modulators to treat patients suffering from such mental disorders.
Abstract:
A method for performing centralized scheduling of content delivery is described including performing admission control, locating a server that is a source of content, determining a content delivery schedule and reordering the content delivery schedule over a content delivery network (CDN). Also described is a method for performing admission control including reordering a request queue based on partially served committed requests for content and newly arrived requests for content and determining if the newly arrived request for content can be admitted to the request queue.
Abstract:
Novel heterocyclic aromatic compounds are provided that are useful in stimulating endogenous production or release of growth hormone, said compounds having the general structure of formula I wherein R1, R1′, R2, R3, R4, Xa, Y, Z and n are as described herein. The compounds provided herein are useful in treating obesity, osteoporosis (improving bone density) and in improving muscle mass and muscle strength.
Abstract:
An adaptive error correction method for data transmission and the devices thereof are disclosed. By comparing the announced recovery data and data requested for error correction, no redundant join messages will be sent if the recovery data have been announced before. This will greatly reduce the number messages and save the band width of transmission.
