摘要: A developing device for an image forming apparatus of the type feeding a one-ingredient or two-ingredient type developer, forming a thin toner layer on a developing roller or toner support member and developing a latent image with the toner layer is disclosed. The toner support member has a surface that is chargeable to the same polarity as toner. The toner support member therefore serves to simply support the toner without electrostatically effecting the toner, so that the development of a latent image is free from the influence of the static electricity of the toner support member. This successfully enhances image quality. A photoconductive element has a coefficient of friction &mgr; confined in the range of 0.1

摘要: An image transfer device and method for providing an image transfer device are provided in which a transfer belt is utilized for transferring an image from an image carrier to a transfer sheet, with a bias member supplying a bias voltage to the transfer belt. The bias member has a first layer and a second layer, with the first layer contacting an inner surface of the transfer belt, and with the second layer disposed below the first layer. The volume resistivity of the first layer is larger than that of the second layer. A relationship is also provided of an acceptable range of belt and roller resistivities, such that maintaining each of the belts and rollers (bias members) of a production lot within the range limits will ensure acceptable results despite variations of belt and roller resistivities within the production lot.

摘要: A reverse development is performed with application of development bias voltage to a development sleeve at the time of development, and the polarity of the bias voltage is reversed or the bias voltage is reduced to zero at the time of non-development. Furthermore, positive images and negative images can be selectively formed by changing the voltage to be applied to a charge injection electrode, without changing the bias voltage to be applied to the development sleeve.
