摘要: Methods, systems, and articles of manufacture for indexing annotations made for a variety of different type (i.e., heterogeneous) data objects are provided. A set of parameters uniquely identifying an annotated data object may be converted to an index comprising a set of index values, each corresponding to a column in a homogeneous index table. In order to accommodate the indexing of heterogeneous data objects, a mapping may be provided for each different type (or classification) of data object that may be annotated, that defines how the identifying parameters of that type will be mapped to the columns of the homogeneous index table.

摘要: This invention pertains to methods and devices for producing products in web form. In particularly advantageous embodiments, the instant invention relates to methods and devices for forming films by coating a coating mass formed from organic raw materials in an aqueous basis onto a reusable transfer support web to form a composite. The composite is then dried and the dried coating transferred onto a intermediate support material. The dried coating and intermediate support material are directed to a winding station. Upon separation from the dried coating, the dried reusable transfer support web may be directed to treatment and cleaning stations and is subsequently reused.

摘要: An apparatus and method for measuring the gloss of a surface with a light source projecting light in the direction of the surface and a light-sensitive sensor receiving the light reflected from the surface and converting it into an electrical signal value. A memory storing a program for calculating the characteristic gloss value, a computer for calculating a characteristic gloss value from the electrical signal value, and a display for visually displaying the calculated characteristic gloss value are provided. Five or more reference value pairs are stored in the memory, each pair consisting of a reference characteristic gloss value and a corresponding reference electrical signal value measured by the apparatus on the basis of the reference surface. The measured electrical signal value is compared with the reference signal values and at least the next higher and the next lower value for interpolating the measured gloss.

摘要: A continuous stream of burley or greenleaf tobacco is transported through a first and thereupon through a second heating unit wherein the particles of tobacco are heated by ascending currents of hot air supplied at a pressure and rate such that the respective portions of the stream are fluidized. First and second detectors are provided to measure the temperature of tobacco downstream of the first and second heating units. Signals from the detectors are used to regulate the temperature of the respective air currents. The temperature of air current which is admitted into the second heating unit is further regulated in dependency on deviation of signals furnished by the detector behind the first heating unit from a reference signal denoting the desired temperature of once heated tobacco. The temperature of each current of hot air is further regulated in dependency on the monitored temperature of air which is about to enter the first and second heating units.

摘要: Moist tobacco is conveyed through a rotating drum which is heated by steam circulating coils and wherein a current of hot air is caused to flow counter to the direction of tobacco transport. The moisture content of conditioned tobacco is monitored by a detector which produces a first signal when the monitored moisture content deviates from a desired moisture content. The first signal is used to rapidly change the temperature of the air current from a standard temperature by adjusting the position of a valve which mixes hot air with cooler air whereby the extent of adjustment corresponds to the extent of deviation of monitored moisture content from desired moisture content. A second signal whose intensity is indicative of the extent of valve adjustment is transmitted to the input of a proportional-plus-integral amplifier which immediately changes the steam pressure in the coils and additionally changes the steam pressure while the temperature of the hot air current deviates from the standard temperature. The valve is reset to a position corresponding to the standard temperature of the air current whereupon the deviation of monitored moisture content from desired moisture content is counteracted exclusively by the changed temperature of the drum and coils as a result of adjustment of steam pressure in the coils.

摘要: Methods for producing a mono- or multilayer composite are provided in which one or several layers are applied onto a carrier material by coating, the coated mono- or multilayer composite is dried and rolled up, and the installation is subsequently cleaned. The air circuit in the drying oven is entirely set to fresh air supply, and the drying oven is configured to be cleaned in a controlled manner. All components of the drying oven that come into contact with the product do not have to be removed during cleaning, but can be cleaned-in-place using technology integrated into the drying oven. The drying oven Outer housing is designed so that it can be lifted upwardly. All assembly parts in the drying oven interior are designed to eliminate disassembling for cleaning purposes. Transport rollers within the drying oven are designed as hollow shafts and provided with spraying nozzles.
