摘要： An optical pickup and an optical disk apparatus of the invention includes a light source 1 mounted with a light-emitting element constituted of a monoblock on a surface of a plate 6 and emitting plural light beams, a light-receiving element 2, optical members 4, 5 and a coupling base 3 for coupling the light source 1, the light-receiving element 2 and the optical members 4, 5, wherein a light from the light source 1 is directed through the optical members 4, 5 toward an optical disk, and a returning light from the optical disk is guided through the optical members 4, 5 to the light-receiving element 2, characterized in that the plate 6 provided in the light source 1 and the coupling base 3 are adjoined by a solder.

摘要： In a semiconductor laser device of the invention, a ridge portion 150 forms a waveguide, and guided light goes along the ridge portion 150. A tail of the guided layer is present also at first side portions 151, while second side portions 152 are regions which the tail of the guided light does not reach. Meanwhile, scattered light generated from the ridge portion 150 goes through the first side portions 15, spreading into the second side portions 152. In the second side portions 152, a light absorption layer 127 serving as a light absorber is formed on the first upper clad layer 108, where the scattered light is absorbed. As a result of the absorption of scattered light in the second side portions 152, ripples of radiation light are reduced. Also since the light absorption layer 127 is in electrical contact with a p-side ohmic electrode 125, the problem of charge accumulation to the light absorption layer 127 can be avoided.

摘要： A liquid ejecting head includes a plurality of nozzles each including an ejection outlet for ejecting a droplet, an ejection energy generating element, disposed at a position opposing the ejection outlet, for generating energy for ejecting a droplet, a pressure chamber provided with the ejection energy generating element and fluidly communicating with the ejection outlet, and a supply passage for supplying the liquid to the pressure chamber, wherein the nozzles include a first nozzle and a second nozzle which are connected with respective ones of the supply passages having lengths different from each other, wherein the first nozzle and the second nozzle are, disposed at one end portion with respect to a widthwise direction of an elongated supply chamber for supplying the liquid to the first nozzle, wherein the supply passage for the first nozzle extends in a direction perpendicular to a direction of liquid ejection from the ejection outlet and fluidly communicates with the supply chamber, and wherein the supply passage for the first nozzle extends in a direction parallel with the direction of liquid ejection.

The 2D-DST substrate includes a first conductive sheet, a second conductive sheet and a plurality of communication modules. The plurality of communication modules are distributed between the first and second conductive sheets. At least one of the plurality of communication modules has a communicating system capable of communicating with an external device by receiving and/or transmitting a spatially propagating signal. One of the first and second conductive sheets on the external device side is formed with an area that allows the spatially propagating signal to pass through at a position corresponding to a location of a communication module having the communicating system.

In the above delay line, the delay time can be adjusted even after the delay line is mounted on a printed circuit board, and further, the delay time can be continuously adjusted. The delay line can also be formed in a multilayer structure rather than on the above dielectric substrate.
