    Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided for beamforming control. In some example embodiments, there may be provided a method. The method may include providing, by a user equipment configured to include a plurality of antenna panels, capability information to a base station, the capability information including antenna panel information regarding the plurality of antenna panels; and providing, by the user equipment, antenna panel usage information to the base station, the antenna panel usage information indicative of which of the plurality of antenna panels are in at least one of an active transmit state or an active receive state.
    Related systems, methods, and articles of manufacture are also disclosed.

    Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from improved transmissions. For example, a network transmission may benefit from improved throughput and efficiency in non-schedule multiple access communications. A method includes selecting at a user equipment operating in a non-scheduled access scheme at least one of a first codeword or a second codeword based on an amount of data. The data in the non-scheduled access scheme can be spread according to a spreading sequence. The method also includes determining a transport block size for at least one of the first codeword or the second codeword. In addition, the method includes transmitting the data from the user equipment to a network node using at least one of the first codeword or the second codeword.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for non-linear precoding in radio access networks are provided. One method may include, when it is determined that a user equipment is capable of being non-linearly precoded, determining one of two non-linear precoding modes and indicating the determined non-linear precoding mode to the user equipment. One of the two non-linear precoding modes is configured to use explicit beamformed channel state information, and the other one of the two non-linear precoding modes is configured to use explicit full downlink channel state information.

    Abstract: A method, apparatus, and a computer-readable storage medium for beam refinement of a two-step random access channel (RACH) procedure are provided. In some implementations, the method may include receiving a plurality of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs), a plurality of channel state information-reference signals (CSI-RSs) associated with each of the plurality of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs), and random access channel (RACH) configuration data from a gNB. The method may further include transmitting a first message of the two-step random access channel (RACH) procedure to the gNB, the first message including a first portion and a second portion. The first portion includes a preamble associated with a selected channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) of the plurality of channel state information-reference signals (CSI-RSs) and the second portion includes data associated with the preamble, and the data transmitted using pre-configured or pre-allocated resources.
