Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for low-latency communications in wireless networks. In some implementations, a wireless station (STA) may transmit a data session request to a root access point (AP) in a wireless network responsive to activating an application associated with latency restricted (LR) data traffic. In some aspects, the data session request may indicate one or more preferred channels to carry the LR data traffic. In some other aspects, the data session request may indicate one or more preferred times to exchange the LR data traffic. In some implementations, the root AP may establish an LR data path with the STA based on the preferred time or frequency resources indicated in the data session request. The LR data path may include time or frequency resources that are reserved for LR data traffic between the root AP and the STA.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for asynchronous channel access control of a wireless system. In some aspects, a device may adjust the priority of one or more PPDUs and may perform other operations to ensure control of a wireless medium at certain times while still allowing for other devices to communicate on the wireless medium. For example, the device may adjust a backoff counter or one or more EDCA parameters to ensure obtaining control of the wireless medium to transmit a first PPDU of an application file. For one or more subsequent PPDUs of the application file, the device may again adjust a backoff counter or one or more EDCA parameters to allow other devices to obtain control of the wireless medium in certain scenarios (such as a second device to provide information back to the device or to otherwise transmit using the shared wireless medium).

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for transmitting, to one or more local area network clients of the device, a multicast message indicating an available network slice, receiving, from a first local area network client of the one or more local area network clients based on the multicast message, a request to access the available network slice, establishing, at the device based on receiving the request, a connection associated with the available network slice, and transmitting, to the first local area network client based on establishing the connection, a confirmation to access the available network slice.

Channel selection constraints in a network having multiple access points

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for communicating channel selection constraints in a network having multiple access points (APs). In one aspect, a root AP may assist with channel selection (assignment) for the multiple APs. A first AP can provide channel operating constraints to the root AP to indicate one or more operating constraints for a particular channel that may be used by the first AP. The operating constraints may be based, at least in part, on a hardware characteristic of the first AP. For example, an operating constraint may indicate a minimum channel separation or a maximum transmit power to consider when the particular channel is used concurrently with another channel. In another aspect, the first AP can communicate a channel selection error and error code when a particular channel cannot be used due to an operating constraint.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for controlling basic service set (BSS) configuration of an access point (AP) in a multi-AP network. The multi-AP network may include a first AP that manages a first basic service set (BSS) and a second AP that manages a second BSS. The first BSS and the second BSS may share one or more wireless channels or may have overlapping coverage areas. A multi-AP controller may determine a BSS configuration policy (such as a maximum transmission opportunity (TXOP) duration) for the second BSS based on a type of traffic in the first BSS. This disclosure includes techniques for sharing traffic characteristics, determining the BSS configuration policy, communicating the BSS configuration policy, and controlling the BSS configuration policies for multiple BSSs so that one of the BSSs can provide a quality of service (QoS) for one or more stations (STAs).

ADJUSTABLE MCS-BASED SCHEDULING OF WIRELESS RESOURCES

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for the scheduling of wireless resources to multiple wireless stations participating in a simultaneous transmission. Some implementations more specifically relate to the allocation of resource units (RUs) to stations for an uplink multi-user OFDMA (UL MU-OFDMA) transmission. In some implementations, an access point (AP) may adjust a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) of one of the stations based on the results of a power imbalance check. For example, in response to determining that a station failed the power imbalance check, the AP may reduce the MCS assigned to the station from a current value to a reduced value as opposed to simply dropping the station from the scheduled transmission. In some implementations, the AP then performs another power imbalance check based on the reduced MCS. The process may be repeated in an effort to provide all of the grouped stations the opportunity to successfully participate in the UL MU-OFDMA transmission.
