Abstract: A method for supporting end-to-end (e2e) Quality of Service (QoS) for uplink (UL) communication between a User Equipment (UE) and a network via a relay node, the method performed by the relay node, are provided. The method includes receiving, from the network, a downlink (DL) packet for the UE, wherein the DL packet includes a value of a first indicator of a QoS flow on a first link between the relay node and the network, and creating or updating a QoS rule, wherein the QoS rule is derived based on the value of the first indicator, and optionally wherein the created or updated QoS rule corresponds to the UE or to a QoS flow on a second link with the UE.

Specifically, the disclosure provides a method for managing a context associated with a UE during a discontinuous coverage scenario in a telecommunication network by a network apparatus. The method includes detecting a 5G mobile management (5GMM) signalling congestion to perform a NAS level congestion control. The method includes receiving unavailability information due to discontinuous coverage, when the UE is allowed to initiate a 5GMM procedure. Further, the method includes avoiding to reject a request for mobility registration update from the UE to manage a context associated with the UE during a discontinuous coverage scenario, when the network apparatus receives the unavailability information due to discontinuous coverage from the UE.

Embodiments herein provide higher priority PLMN selection method during disaster situation in a wireless network (1000) by MS (100). In an embodiment, when MS (100) is registered for the disaster roaming service, the method includes selecting a higher priority PLMN in a priority order when the higher priority PLMN is available in the network and other non-forbidden PLMN when the higher priority PLMN is unavailable in the network, and registering the MS to receive the service in the network on one of the selected higher priority PLMN, and the selected other non-forbidden PLMN. In another embodiment, when the MS is not registered for the disaster roaming service, the method includes selecting a higher priority PLMN in a priority order when the higher priority PLMN is available in network, and registering the MS on the selected higher priority PLMN to receive the service in network.

Abstract: There is disclosed a first method for a UE, wherein the UE is in 5GMM-CONNECTED mode with RRC inactive indication. The first method comprises: establishing a PDU session for sending data over the control plane; determining that there is data to be sent in an UL NAS TRANSPORT message; in response to the determining, requesting lower layers to resume an RRC connection; and upon receiving a fallback indication from the lower layers in response to the requesting, entering 5GMM-IDLE mode. Also disclosed is a second method for a UE, wherein the UE is in 5GMM-CONNECTED mode with RRC inactive indication. The second method comprises: establishing a PDU session for sending data over the user plane; determining that there is user data to be sent over the user plane; determining that there is no pending NAS procedure; and upon receiving a fallback indication from the lower layers, in response to the determining, entering 5GMM-IDLE mode. Also disclosed is a third method for a UE, wherein the UE is in 5GMM-CONNECTED mode with RRC inactive indication. The third method comprises: in response to receiving, from lower layer, a suspend indication, determining the type of the suspend indication; and entering a NAS mode according to the determined type of the suspend indication.
