Abstract: An inter-layer video decoding method according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise the steps of: obtaining prediction mode information for a current block of a depth image from a bitstream; creating a prediction block of the current block on the basis of the obtained prediction mode information; predicting an average value for the prediction block by using the pixel values of a designated location of the prediction block; and decoding the depth image by using the average value for the prediction block.

The inter-layer video decoding method includes: obtaining a decoded first layer image from a first layer bitstream; determining, based on residual prediction information obtained from a second layer bitstream, whether to perform residual prediction performed on a second layer block by referring to a first layer block corresponding to the second layer block within the first layer image; in response to determining not to perform the residual prediction, obtaining luminance compensation information from the second layer bitstream and determining whether to perform luminance compensation based on the luminance compensation information; and in response to determining to perform the luminance compensation, performing the luminance compensation on the second layer block.

Abstract: An inter-layer video decoding method includes searching for a neighboring block candidate which neighbors a current block and has a motion vector in an inter-layer direction, from among spatial and temporal neighboring block candidates; when the neighboring block candidate having the motion vector in the inter-layer direction is found, setting the motion vector in the inter-layer direction of the found neighboring block candidate as a disparity vector of the current block; when the neighboring block candidate having the motion vector in the inter-layer direction is not found, searching for a neighboring block candidate having disparity vector information from among the spatial and temporal neighboring block candidates; and when the neighboring block candidate having the disparity vector information is found, predicting a disparity vector of the current block based on the disparity vector information of the found candidate.
