摘要: The present invention provides an ink jet printing apparatus and a method for controlling temperature for the ink jet printing apparatus wherein the temperature of a print head, which may lower during printing, is controlled before printing without using any sub-heater to allow a favorable ejection condition to be established without reducing the head temperature below a predetermined value. Thus, scan width information and dot count information are acquired before a carriage starts scanning to determine the heating temperature of the print head on the basis of the information.

摘要: A method of adjusting bidirectional registration to reduce negative effects on the image such as “banding” even if bidirectional registration includes a slight amount of displacement is provided. For that purpose, correction is applied to a first adjustment value for adjusting a bidirectional registration displacement in response to an extent of inclination of a printing head to obtain a second adjustment value. Then a bidirectional printing is performed with timing adjusted on the basis of the second adjustment value. As a result of that, even if there is a slight variation in an adjustment value of the bidirectional registration and the inclination of the printing head, the banding generated by this can be reduced as much as possible.

摘要: A printing apparatus and a conveyance control method are provided, both capable of detecting a print medium conveying state highly precisely in an entire process of conveying the print medium being printed. For this purpose, the surface of the print medium placed on the belt and the surface of the belt are detected to acquire the moving distance or moving speed of the print medium. Based on the moving distance or moving speed thus obtained, the driving of the belt is controlled. Even in a situation where the object being detected switches from the print medium to the belt in the middle of the conveying operation, the measurement of the moving distance can be performed without interruption by the same detection method using the same optical sensor unit.

The bias mechanism includes a resilient member and a projection portion that is rotatable together with the one of the first and second rotors. The projection portion is rotatable relative to the other one of the rotors and contacts a contact part of the other one. Restoring force of the resilient member is applied to the other one of the first and second rotors through the projection portion. The contact part includes an inclination portion that is configured to increase and decrease restoring force of the resilient member.

摘要: In an image printing apparatus for printing an image by combining dots of a plurality of sizes, a banding problem attributable to variations in conveying operation, and a temperature rise of a print head with an increase of the number of ejections are solved with a relatively simple configuration. To this end, a combination of dots of a plurality of sizes is assigned to each of pixels expressed at a plurality level of density. In this assignment, a dot larger than a pitch of an image resolution is preferentially allocated to a pixel having a density level higher than that to which one dot smaller than the pitch of the image resolution is allocated.

摘要: When a printing position is displaced by an inclination of a printing head, for example, the displacement can be corrected in an easy and effective manner and a user can easily recognize the displacement of the printing position to correct the displacement. To realize this, dots for forming a test pattern are formed by different scannings by a nozzle group including a plurality of nozzles positioned at one end side of a nozzle row and a nozzle group including a plurality of nozzles positioned at the other end side of the nozzle row. Depending on displacements of the printing positions of these dots, the plurality of nozzles constituting the nozzle row are divided into a plurality of divided nozzle groups. Then, the printing position is adjusted on the basis of the divided nozzle groups.

摘要: An inkjet recording apparatus includes a recording head having a nozzle array of plural nozzles capable of discharging ink. The inkjet recording apparatus performs a scanning/recording operation for forming an image on a recording medium by shifting the recording head in a main scanning direction. The inkjet recording apparatus repeatedly perform the scanning/recording operation and a recording medium conveying operation. The inkjet recording apparatus sets a recording position correction amount for each section of the nozzle array based on information relating to the inclination, so that a recording position correction amount in a forward scanning operation is different from a recording position correction amount in a backward scanning operation.

摘要: An effective range of urging force of an assist spring is between a maximum retarded phase and a predetermined phase of a camshaft, a vane rotor and vanes. The predetermined phase is equal to an intermediate locking phase of the camshaft, the rotor and the vanes+10 degree CA. Even when oil pressure supplied to each advancing chamber is reduced at the time of engine stop, the camshaft, the rotor and the vanes can be advanced to or beyond the intermediate phase by the spring. Furthermore, at the time of engine start, the rotor and the vanes are positioned near the intermediate phase, so that reaction force of the spring is very small, allowing easy movement of the rotor with drive torque of the camshaft toward a retard side. Thus, the rotor can be locked at the intermediate phase by a lock pin.
