摘要: A technique is disclosed of tracking a position of a pupil of a viewer's eyeball, by directing light toward the eyeball and using a portion of the light reflected from the eyeball. In the technique, the detection is performed of the intensity of a reflected light beam which is a portion of a light beam entering the eyeball which is reflected therefrom. An intensity signal indicative of the intensity of the reflected light beam is produced. The pupil position is tracked based on intensity changes of the reflected light beam represented by the intensity signal.

摘要: An apparatus is disclosed which projects light onto a retina of a viewer, to thereby allow the viewer to perceive a display object via a virtual image. The apparatus includes: an emitter emitting light; a modulator modulating the light; a display unit outputting the modulated light to the retina of the viewer through an exit of the display unit, to thereby display in an image display region an image representative of the display object in the form of a virtual image; and a controller controlling the emitter and the modulator so that the image is displayed in the image display region. The controller detects a relative motion of the viewer with respect to a position of the viewer, and performs at least one of control of a display/non-display status of the image, and control of a display position of the image, in accordance with the detected relative motion.

摘要: A blower includes: an impeller on which there are arranged axial flow blades 40 mounted at circumferential intervals to an outer peripheral surface of a boss; a case surrounding the impeller; and a bell mouth cylindrically constricted to guide gas into the case, wherein an inner diameter of the bell mouth is smaller than an outer diameter of the impeller. Further, each blade has, in the radial direction, a sweepforward wing portion situated on the boss side and exhibiting a positive advance ratio value, and a sweepback wing potion situated on the outer peripheral side of the blade and exhibiting a negative advance ratio value, with the arc length of each blade increasing from the boss side toward the outer peripheral side. Therefore, it is possible to achieve an improvement in ventilation efficiently, through an increase in static pressure and to achieve a reduction in noise.

摘要: In an optical scanning device 1, a housing 3 has a space 3a in the inside thereof. A floating rotational plate 2 is housed in the space 3a, and is caused to float and to rotate by a magnetic force. The floating rotational plate 2 has an optical deflection layer 6 thereon. A diffraction grating 71 is formed on the optical deflection layer 6 on and around the center axis Z of the floating rotational plate 2. When a beam of light falls incident on the diffraction grating 71 in a direction normal to the surface of the optical deflection layer 6, the diffraction grating 71 diffracts the light in a radius direction of the circular-shaped floating rotational plate 2. The light is transmitted through optical waveguides 20 and 51 to be emitted outside from the housing 3. By rotating the small-sized floating rotational plate 2 at a high speed inside the housing 3, it is possible to scan the light at a high speed and with a high resolution.

摘要: Connector housings (11, 12) to be mounted on a printed circuit board (100) have a plurality of rows of contacts (13, 14) extending from wall surfaces of the housing (11, 12). These contacts (13, 14) are soldered to conductive pads (23) of a flexible circuit (20). The flexible circuit (20), bent in a generally U-shaped, about an insertion portion (31) of a metallic guide portion (30) which is to be inserted between rows of contacts (50) of a mating connector (40) for interconnection therebetween. The guide member (30) preferably engages a ground conductor (176) on the reverse surface of the flexible substrate and includes extending portions (142) to groundingly engage conductive member (43, 124) positioned at both ends of the housing. In an alternate embodiment strengthening plates may be adhered to the flexible circuit between the opposed arrays of conductive pads and ground contact pads.

摘要: An image recording apparatus comprises an aperture electrode for modulating and regulating a flow of charged toner particles, and a vibrating device for vibrating the aperture electrode. The vibration generated by the vibrating device is a progressive wave transmitted in the aperture electrode. Since all of the apertures of the aperture electrode efficiently vibrate at a sufficient amplitude, adhesion of the toner particles to the aperture electrode is easily prevented.

摘要: A connector for an edge card has a plurality of contact terminals spaced apart in an elongated connector housing. Each terminal has a general U-shape contact portion which extends transverse through a contact cavity slot. The contact portion is horizontally cantilevered from a vertical cantilevered positioning portion which is disposed within a recess associated with the contact cavity, and is further displaceable therein in response to insertion of an edge card into the connector card slot. The insertion of the edge card into the card slot causes the terminal to partially deflect within the recess to bring an opposing contact surface into reliable contact with the edge card.
