摘要: The present invention relates to a base station (BS) and to a method for supporting UE positioning measurements in a wireless communication system. The method comprises transmitting (610) signals associated with a first cell, where the signals comprise positioning reference signals. The method also comprises transmitting (620) signals associated with a second cell, wherein the second cell is configured to have a lower transmission capacity than the first cell, and discontinuing (630) the transmission of at least one signal associated with the first cell except for the positioning reference signals. The energy consumption of the BS may thus be reduced while still supporting accurate positioning measurements.

摘要: In one aspect, the teachings herein provide a system and method for reusing the PUCCH format 3 to address the new HARQ-ACK feedback cases encountered in Rel-11, where different UL/DL configurations are involved in the CA configuration of a UE, such as Rel-11 interband TDD CA with different UL/DL configurations on different bands. The various embodiments illustrated by way of example in this disclosure enable reliable and efficient HARQ-ACK feedback for Rel-11 TDD CA without a substantial increase in specification and implementation complexity.

The user equipment communicates data with the radio network node (12, 12′) using second information in the scheduling assignment element indicated by the pointer.

The user equipment (501) may initiate a timing advance value to zero during a creation of a timing advance group, a modification of a timing advance group, or if a TAC MAC CE command has not been performed. The user equipment (501) may further update the timing advance value based on a received TAC MAC CE command.Some of the example embodiments presented herein are directed towards a base station, and corresponding method therein, for uplink timing alignment. The base station (401) may be configured to estimate a proximity of the user equipment (501) to an uplink receive or an uplink cell size of the user equipment. The base station may determine a TAC MAC CE based on the estimation and send the TAC MAC CE to the user equipment (501) for uplink timing alignment.

摘要: Techniques provide additional Hybrid-ARQ indication resources for LTE TDD subframes that are normally without conventional LTE PHICH resources or that have too few LTE PHICH resources. In some embodiments, a modified PHICH is created using unused REGs in the control region of the downlink subframe. In others, a modified PHICH resides within the resources of an AL=1 PDCCH, and is formed using encoding and modulation processes that differ from normal PDCCH processing. In other embodiments, the PUSCH HARQ feedback bits are carried by a conventional LTE PDCCH, which is distinguished from other PDCCHs by scrambling it with a new type of RNTI: HARQ indicator Radio-network temporary identifier (HI-RNTI). In still other embodiments, the modulation symbols of PHICH are then placed on top of those normally reserved for PDCCHs. For such overlapped radio resources, the modulation symbols from the modified PHICH will replace those from normal PDCCHs for transmission.

摘要: The present invention relates to methods and apparatus in a RBS and a UE for reference signal (RS) measurements in an OFDM system, that enable having a configurable RS transmission bandwidth which is smaller than the system bandwidth. This allows for better interference coordination of RS, which in turn improves the UE RS measurements used for different services such as positioning. The RBS retrieves the RS transmission bandwidth, determines a RS measurement bandwidth based on this RS transmission bandwidth, and transmits the determined bandwidth to the UE. The UE receives the RS measurement bandwidth and measures the RS in a bandwidth determined based on the received measurement bandwidth and the UE capability.

摘要: Inter-cell interference coordination across layers of a communication network can be implemented by configuring a cell to transmit one or more downlink transmission resources having variably reduced transmission activity. A transmitting node, such as a macro cell, can transmit transmission resources, such as resource elements, resource blocks, subframes, and frames, having reduced transmission activity at varying predictable times according to a selected cell activity pattern. A receiving node, such as a user equipment, can decide to make received signal measurements according to the cell activity pattern.

摘要: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements in a network node such as a positioning server and a user equipment of enabling downlink-based positioning of the user equipment which is served by a serving cell. The network node estimates (210) a timing difference between a timing of a neighboring cell and a timing of the serving cell. This is done based on synchronization information associated with the neighboring and serving cells. It then transmits (220) an instruction to perform a positioning measurement to the user equipment. The instruction comprises an identity of the neighboring cell and the estimated timing difference. In this way the UE may find the reference signal when performing the positioning measurements, even when the SFNs of the neighbor cell is not aligned with the SFN of the serving cell.

The feedback concerns the reception status of the received data packets and may comprise an ACK/NAK. The method comprises receiving and decoding data packets from the base station in a sub-frame. Further, acknowledgement information ACK/NAK is generated, a scrambling code selected with which the ACK/NAK is scrambled.
