Abstract: A user device parses system information block data, received from a first cell, to identify an upper layer indicator element, and determines, based on the upper layer indicator element, that the user device is in an EN-DC area. The user device causes, based on determining that the user device is in the EN-DC area, first display of a first indicator on a display of the user device, and sends a request to the first cell for a data connection. The user device receives, from the first cell, a message that indicates a second cell will initiate the data connection via a 5G NR millimeter wave connection. The user device causes, based on the message, display of a second indicator on the display of the user device for a threshold amount of time, and then causes second display of the first indicator on the display of the user device.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can determine that a thermal condition or a battery condition is satisfied with regard to the UE, wherein the UE is associated with a 4G/Long Term Evolution (4G/LTE) connection and a 5G/New Radio (5G/NR) connection; determine whether the 5G/NR connection is to be activated or deactivated based on the thermal condition or the battery condition; transmit a tracking area update request based on determining that the thermal condition or the battery condition is satisfied; transmit capability information, wherein, when the 5G/NR connection is to be activated, the capability information indicates a 5G/NR capability of the UE, and wherein, when the 5G/NR connection is to be deactivated, the capability information does not indicate the 5G/NR capability of the UE; and deactivate or activate a 5G/NR modem of the UE based on determining that the thermal condition or the battery condition is satisfied.

The RIC system may provide RIC control for bounded performance metrics, such as latency and reliability.

The core network selection service may minimize end devices transitioning between core networks of a multi-radio access technology (RAT) radio access network (RAN) based on cell selection priority configurations. The cell selection priority configurations may be provisioned on the end device via control messaging, such as system information block messages. The core network selection service may manage the end devices when in idle mode and in a connected mode.

Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for the selection of On Durations, Off Durations, and associated timers for monitoring of downlink traffic for a User Equipment (“UE”). For example, the UE may monitor a Physical Downlink Control Channel (“PDCCH”) according to a first set of On and Off Durations associated with a particular profile selected for the UE, and monitor the PDCCH according to a second set of On and Off Durations associated with the particular profile upon expiration of a timer associated with the first set of On and Off Durations. Machine learning or other suitable techniques may be used to refine the selection of On/Off Durations and associated timers in an ongoing process.

Abstract: A method for prioritizing scanning to improve system acquisition includes scanning, by a user equipment device (UE), for base stations associated with a first radio access technology (RAT); establishing, by the UE, a first wireless channel between the UE and a first base station based on the first RAT; determining, by the UE, whether information associated with a second RAT was received via the first wireless channel; scanning, by the UE, for base stations associated with the second RAT in response to receiving the information via the first wireless channel, where the scanning is based on the received information; determining, by the UE, whether a second wireless channel based on the second RAT is established between the UE and a second base station; and camping, by the UE, on the second base station associated with the second RAT in response to determining that the second wireless channel was established.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can receive a first data stream and a second data stream. The UE can store data units of the second data stream, as stored data units, in a buffer while a retransmission operation is performed for the first data stream. The UE can determine that a threshold is satisfied with regard to the buffer, wherein the threshold is associated with a counter that is maintained based on the storing of the data units and can provide the stored data units based on determining that the threshold is satisfied.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide reliable voice connections and highest possible data rates in New Radio dual-connectivity environments, given limitations of available spectrum. A system includes a first wireless station and a second wireless station. The first wireless station provides a shared spectrum of a first frequency band, the shared spectrum including a first spectrum for a first cellular wireless standard and a second spectrum for a second cellular wireless standard. The second wireless station is at least partially within a coverage area of the first wireless station and provides a third spectrum for the second cellular wireless standard. The third spectrum is a millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum. The first wireless station broadcasts cell parameters barring an end device in an idle mode from camping on the second spectrum. The first wireless station or the second wireless station triggers the end device to swap to the second spectrum when a paging request for a voice call is received.

Abstract: A fixed wireless access device may include a memory configured to store instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to activate a Fifth Generation (5G) scanning mode and scan for 5G wireless signals associated with a provider that is also associated with the fixed wireless access device. The processor may be further configured to detect a 5G wireless signal associated with the provider; determine a signal strength for the detected 5G wireless signal; and generate an indication of the determined signal strength to be displayed in a user interface associated with the fixed wireless access device.
