Abstract:
A system and method for implementing low complexity multi-view video coding. According to various embodiments, single-loop decoding is applied to multi-view video coding. For N coded views, where only M of the N views are to be displayed, only those M views are required to be fully decoded and stored to a decoded picture buffer (DPB) when needed. Pictures of other views are only partially decoded or simply parsed and do not have to be stored into the DPB. Various embodiments also provide for an encoder that encodes multi-view video bitstreams in accordance with the single-loop decoding concept, as well as a decoder that utilizes single-loop decoding to decode and output on a subset of the encoded views from a multi-view bitstream.
Abstract:
The H.264 standard has introduced a new coding method for intra-coded pictures, which is named “intra prediction”. The basic idea of intra prediction is to predict a block using reconstructed neighbour pixels. Thus, only the residual information needs to be encoded. Scalable video coding adds some scalable extension to H.264, in terms of spatial, temporal and SNR scalability. An improved encoding method for scalable video comprises generating from a video picture a first and a second picture with higher resolution than the first picture, wherein each macroblock in the first picture has a plurality of corresponding macroblocks in the second picture, intra-coding the first picture on macroblock level, wherein for each macroblock a prediction direction is determined, generating a first residual picture, intra-coding the second picture on macroblock level, wherein for each macroblock the prediction direction of the corresponding macroblock of the first picture is reused, and generating a second residual picture.
Abstract:
Method and system for switching a network application operating in a first communication mode to a second mode within a wireless local area network, comprising: judging whether mobile nodes are neighboring according to location information; when nodes are neighboring inquiring whether mobile nodes want to switch to second mode to run network applications; when all mobile nodes agree to switch to second mode, downloading and installing network application provided by the application server to one of the mobile nodes; configuring each of the mobile nodes with the communication parameters under the second mode; and switching all mobile nodes to the second communication mode to continue the previous network application. The invention dynamically switches between Infrastructure mode and Ad-hoc mode to balance system resources, improve QoS, reduce the communication traffic, waiting time and the cost of the users, and increase the income of the provider of the network service.

Abstract:
A system for minimizing downtime in an appliance-based business continuance architecture is provided. The system includes at least one primary data storage and least one primary host machine. The system includes an intercept agent to intercept primary host machine data requests, and to collect information associated with the intercepted data requests. Moreover, at least one business continuance appliance in communication with the primary host machine and in communication with a remote backup site is provided. The appliance receives information associated with the intercepted data requests from the intercept agent. In addition, a local cache is included within the business continuance appliance. The local cache maintains copies of primary data storage according to the information received. Furthermore, the remote site is provided with the intercepted data requests via the business continuance appliance, wherein the remote site maintains a backup of the primary data storage.

Novel methods of synthesizing heteroatom-containing porphyrins and metalloporphyrins are disclosed. Novel heteroatom-containing porphyrin and metalloporphyrin compounds are also disclosed. The new methods advantageously utilize metal-catalyzed cross-coupling and amination reactions to produce porphyrin compounds useful in a variety of practical applications.
Abstract:
The present invention is a new solution of line and relay in an analog subscriber board, which has a less number of relays and can decrease the cost and save the space while realizing the basic functions in a voice network. The technical solution of the invention provides each subscriber with two relays to connect the subscriber line interface circuit, the subscriber line, the ring bus and the test bus, realizing the basic functions relevant to the talking, such as talking, ringing, etc. In order to add the auxiliary functions such as the testing function and the monitoring function, the subscriber lines are grouped, and at least one relay is supplemented in a subscriber group, the subscriber group relays together with above two subscriber relays will be used to connect the subscriber line interface circuit, the subscriber line, the ring bus and the test bus to perform the basic functions relevant to talking and the auxiliary functions such as testing, monitoring, etc.

The antifugal agents of the subject invention can be used in the treatment of an animal or human having a fugal infection. In a further embodiment the compounds can be used to treat plant fugal infections, disinfect surfaces, and prevent spoilage of organic compositions such as food and cosmetics.
Abstract:
An A/D converter having a plurality of thresholding circuits corresponding to bits of output digital data, each of which includes odd number of inverters serially connected from a first stage to a last stage. The first stage inverter of the thresholding circuits have thresholds equal to a weights of the bits. The inverters of the last stage are of thresholds different from those of the first stage.
